InterCityHotels is a modern hotel chain under the Deutsche Hospitality management. Formerly known as Steigenberger Hotel Group, Deutsche Hospitality was founded in 1930. It was Albert Steigenberger who came up with this idea. He started a small series of hotels in Germany which remains the location where most of the establishments of the company are. In mid-2009, the Egyptian travel and tourism company Travco Group acquired the mother company until the new name was publicly released in 2016.
