In 1989, the first-ever Homewood Suites hotel was launched in Omaha, Nebraska. Originally, this hotel chain was owned by Promus Hotel Corporation. However, in 1999, Hilton Worldwide bought Promus, thus acquiring Homewood Suites along with other Promus-owned hotel chains.
After the purchase, the name was changed to Homewood Suites by Hilton. Adding a layer of assurance as Hilton hotels are known for their high quality of hotels and services.
