About Langham Hotels New York
Since it opened in 1865, Langham Hotels has always been considered as one of the grandest hotel chains in London. Its opening was one for the books, graced by the presence of European royalty. Having been around for over 150 years, it has always been a leader in innovative hospitality that pairs well with the most sophisticated European craftsmanship. In fact, it is the first hotel chain in the world to establish hydraulic lifts, and hot and cold running water in guest rooms.
In the 1870s, Langham Hotels easily rose to the top, introducing luxurious hospitality to the city. From air conditioning to electric lights, it made significant contributions to the global market. These innovations truly disrupted the market, bringing customer experience to a whole new level. There is no wonder why it quickly became a popular choice among royalties and artists from all over the world. The 1870s was truly a historical period for the company because Louis Napoleon III spent most of his exile at the company’s hotel in London.
In 1911, Langham Hotels expanded its presence to Pasadena, California when Henry Huntington purchased Hotel Wentworth. It was reopened shortly after renovations were made, and is now known as The Langham in Pasadena.
