One of the most unforgettable events in one of the hotels under this brand was actor and film producer Leslie Cheung’s suicide in 2003. She jumped from the 24th floor of the Mandarin Oriental in Central, Hong Kong. In 2009, the Beijing Television Cultural Center which was to collaborate with a Mandarin Oriental Hotel caught fire.
