Seychelles International Airport - SEZ Victoria
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II opened Seychelles International Airport in 1972 in Victoria, Seychelles. Prior to that, Tony Bentley-Buckle was already able to land a private plane in the airport in 1971. In the same year, East African Airways and Luxair also landed in the airport. The airport saw substantial expansion since 1980, due to constant growth in passenger traffic.

When SEZ-Seychelles International Airport opened, it had a 2,987-meter long runway and an air traffic control (ATC) tower. At the time, ground handling and other airport operations were handled by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA). In the following year, Aviation Seychelles Co. took care of ground handling and other airport operations. Since 2006, the airport is operated by Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This was after the enactment of the Civil Aviation Authority Act, which changed DCA into Seychelles CAA. The airport has a runway measuring 9,833-foot long. As one of the busiest airports in the country, it oversees domestic terminal departure every 10 to 15 minutes and international terminal departure every 30 minutes. 14 airlines are operating in the airport. It serves as the main hub and head office of Air Seychelles as well. Nearby cities that travelers usually visit include Anse Etoile, Eden Island, and Port Glaud.
