There are currently two asphalt runways used in the airport. Thirteen aircraft parking bays are also featured on the site as well as a terminal building 8,700 square meters in size. Port Elizabeth International Airport had a terminal upgrade to be able to increase its current capacity. At present, it has a capacity of 2 million passengers annually after the new terminal was opened in 2004.
