Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport in Pekanbaru, Indonesia is one of the public airports owned by the Government of Indonesia. It is an international airport that was formerly dedicated as Simpang Tiga Airport. PKU Airport was renamed after the last sultan of Suak, Sultan Syarif Kasim II, also an Indonesian National Hero. The airport serves flights domestically and internationally. Flights to Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia are served from the airport.

A new terminal was built in July 2012 to be able to accommodate 1.5 million passengers traffic per annum in PKU Airport. The airport is also now capable of accommodation narrow-bodied jets as well as wide bodies ones like the Boeing 747 jumbo. The new terminal has a total area of 17,000 square meters and features a bigger apron that can accommodate 10 wide-bodied aircrafts, twice the capacity of the old apron they used to have in the airport.
