The first runway was completed in the same year, followed by a second runway in 1943. It features a small passenger terminal building with 4 check-in counters in the processing area, several waiting areas, baggage claim, and offices for emigration control, customs control, and immigration control, as well as a cafe. The airport is equipped to serve general aircrafts up to the narrow-body Airbus A320. The airport serves Air New Zealand's two weekly flights from Brisbane and three weekly flights from Sydney using an Airbus A320.
