Coimbatore International Airport is one of the main airports under the Airports Authority of India and owned by the government. It is located in Coimbatore, India and serves the areas of Namakkal, Tirupur, Salem, Nilgiris, Erode and Coimbatore Metropolitan Area. Further expansions in 2010 were made adding a new international and domestic area to the old common terminal. Coimbatore International Airport has two hangars on the airport and provides a home for the Coimbatore Flying Club. Currently, the airport can accommodate aircrafts as big as the Boeing 787. Additional parking bays and new aerobridges are currently being added to the airport. Muligoor, Gudalur and Pykara are some nearby village where you can see tea growing destinations and other fun activities.
