Aristides Pereira International Airport – BVC Airport
Aristides Pereira International Airport is a major airport that serves areas in Sal Rei as well as several other regions near the Boa Vista Island, Cape Verde. BVC-Rabil is situated 3.1 miles south of Sal Rei, the capital city of the region. The airport is the third busiest in the country. BVC Airport started to become international back in 2005. After two years of improvements and conversions, the airport was finally completed in 2007 and officially opened in October 2007 as an international airport. It was originally dedicated as Rabil Airport but was renamed after President Aristides Pereira, the first president of Cape Verde.

There are plenty of airlines operating in BVC Airport. Among the top airlines in the area include Brussels Airlines, Cabo Verde Express, Smartwings, TUI Airways, Transvania, TAP Air Portugal and Luxair. Seasonal flights to Brussels, Luxembourg, Amsterdam and Edinhoven are served in the area. Seasonal charter flights to Stockhom-Arlanda, Copenhagen, Prague, Vienna and Bratislava are also served in the airport. The airport is operated by Aeroportos e Segurança Aérea. There is no BVC Airport hotels available onsite but you can find several near the terminal. Hotel Riu Karamboa, Royal Horizons Boa Vista and Iberostar Club Boavista – All Inclusive are located within a five to ten minute drive from the airport. Beaches are also within close location to these areas.
