Not Bad for the Price and Amenities. But you need to plan your trip around the Early timings.

Pros: Loved the Amenities of the facility with the Onsen. And the free shuttle bus in the morning to the Goura Station. The room and the toilet were large and spacious and was one of the biggest rooms i stayed in Japan. Staff are friendly and help to the best of their abilities.

Cons: The location of this hotel is really in an obscure place. Food around the hotel is non existent and most of Hakone closes at 5.30. The only way of getting to the hotel is by a Public bus or Hotel Shutter which last call is at 4.55pm which is pretty early.

The room had cockroaches and was unclean.

Pros: Fantastic, not much to not like. It delivers everything it promises. Got the most basic room but it was still pretty big. Gym is pretty good, I didn't use the pool or the baths - Hakone has plenty to do on a 3 day trip. Everything is well maintained. Staff is typical Japanese-polite - outstanding. Fair price and location doesn't really matter - you need a car in Hakone or you're not gonna have such a good time with transports.

Cons: The water in the shower took a really long time to warm up.

Cons: Walking along the busy road in the evening to get food (shuttle bus stops early) and only small tableware. Maybe add a large cup or bowl.

Very beautiful property, and a great experience.

Pros: We paid for breakfast, as there really isn't much of an option. Breakfast selection was fine (as long as you're not expecting anything other than Japanese food), the staff were friendly and efficient, and the view from the restaurant was amazing. The same restaurant also offers dinner; we were there during the very busy summer holidays, and it was booked out three days in advance. It's a bit difficult to get there without a car - we used a very crowded bus from Odawara train station to an intersection about 500m away. Only problem is that the resort was up a very steep hill, and the footpath is narrow - we eventually flagged a taxi! I'd recommend the alternative, the train up from Odawara to the village of Gora (the line is called the Hakone-Tozan line, and you have to change trains enroute). Takes about an hour but is very scenic. There's a hotel shuttle bus stop at Gora, with a free shuttle to the property. One final word - the room was EASILY the biggest hotel room we've had in Japan.

Cons: Staff were very unhelpful and rude when trying to book breakfast or get coffee or just a wine glass for the room. Staff were helpful on check in and check out though.

Did not enjoy our stay in Hakone, this is a bad choice for hotel and will not come back or recommend.

Pros: Very old rooms, amenities, and hotel in general. Staff is unhelpful, we were alone in the hotel and still didnt receive any help. The onsen on-site is so old, looks (and feels dirty) the rooms are so old, the beds are so uncomfortable. Theres no restaurants near by and they dont even provide coffee in the morning or give the option to purchase.
