    grest place that charges per...

Pros: The place is huge. They have big rooms. The hotel has some updates recently. Its a very nice place. Nice place for a getaway. The food was also very good.
Cons: The staff added $100 to the bill after we booked it online. They didnt give any reason for that. Even though we posted that we had 5 people. They changed the price on us. So be careful booking if you have more than one or two.

    Wonderful

Cons: Some of the facilities were a bit old and not that well kept. There are some areas and facilities that need a serious update.

  • Hotel review by Cameron

    Cameron

    Very Good

Pros: Its like something out of the 80s, but would be great for a family with kids. Good service with shuttle bus back into town and there are heaps of facilities to keep the family entertained
Cons: Its a fair way out of town if youre wanting to be near the station. Very strict on the 3pm check in, when there wasnt much else you could do on a rainy day and the rooms were clearly ready.

  • Hotel review by Alex

    Alex

    Very Good

Pros: great location and good facilities although the accommodation is a little tired. It could do with a little refresh. Food very good and buffet excellent. Would definitely recommend

  • Hotel review by Gerard

    Gerard

    Very Good

Pros: The resort itself was very spacious and comfortable. The added use of the spa was wonderful and the in house bath an added value. The breakfast and dinners were excellent and at all times the staff were attentive and welling to help non speaking Japanese guests. The bus shuttle to and from the main train station was also a great service every 30 minutes. Overall the resort was value for money for a short stay.
Cons: The resort in its glory days would have been an amazing facility, but it seemed to be a victim of its own passing of time and not keeping up with repairs and renovations. The facility has a late 80's feel and needs some rejuvenation put into the whole place to bring it up to a great standard again. Most of the advertised sporting activities were not available and the water park closed. Pool area needs renovating and the grounds overall needs some TLC. During the world cup celebrations is was very disappointing that the resort did not have one of its bars or ball rooms utilised to televise matches, this was possibly a revenue stream missed by management.

  • Hotel review by Arrianne

    Arrianne

    Very Good

Pros: A big hotel with sprawling grounds and all kinds of sports and conference facilities. Slightly tired. But big, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was poor! They charged for parking and for early check in even when rooms are ready! Suited our need for a one night stop when following rugby.

  • Hotel review by Sarah

    Sarah

    Very Good

Pros: Resort is an amazing undermanaged asset that could have a lot more foreign visitors if it let people know it was so near a Shinkansen stop. Lots of space in real country side and facilities looked amazing.
Cons: Lots more English information needed and if there are 971 rooms some choice of restaurant would be appreciated. This could be a Japanese version of Center Parcs with a bit of investment.

  • Hotel review by Kathryn

    Kathryn

    Pleasant

    Pros: The views.
Cons: It had a very tired feeling to it.

  • Hotel review by David

    David

    Fair

Pros: Rooms were a good size and the grounds have a lots is space. There are lot of activities at the place for those interested. There is a free shuttle into town but finishing at 9 is pretty useless if you want to go into town for dinner and drinks.
Cons: We were there for the rugby World Cup. They were happy to price gouge by doubling their prices around the World Cup but couldnt be bothered to put on any facilities to show the games at the hotel. The bar was also pretty rubbish.

  • Hotel review by Rachel

    Rachel

    Fair

Pros: The staff were friendly, the buffet supper and breakfast were excellent. Check in and out was efficient. Check in only at 4pm, check out at 10am and one of the most expensive hotels we stayed in on our 10 night Japan trip.
Cons: We checked in specifically for the Rugby World Cup as this hotel was near Shizuoka stadium where South Africa were playing Italy on Friday night (4th Oct). It seemed many other people did the same thing, as the hotel was full of rugby supporters. So with that in mind you would think that the hotel would be a bit more geared to help their guests (especially at the price we paid which was significant - 45,000 yen, around 450 GBP a night!!!) The hotel is around 5kms from the station - it's not walkable for foreigners as quite rural. You can get a taxi for around 2000 yen, but there is a regular hotel shuttle bus from the station on the hour, and from the hotel to the station at half past the hour. The shuttle finishes at 9pm from the station. As the majority of guests on that Friday night were for the rugby you would have assumed that the hotel would be a bit more jacked up - nope, the shuttle still stopped at 9pm meaning most hotel guests would have to wait hours getting back from the station, and they still only had one shuttle running every half hour from 3/4pm (seating about 20 people) when there were huge numbers of people queuing for the shuttle. However, they did leave the restaurant open an extra 2 hours till 10pm so the rugby people could eat supper later, although there was no way anyone would get back for that nice gesture seeing as the match finished at 8.30pm and there were around 50,000 people trying to get back to the railway station!!!! So essentially their one nice gesture was pointless, and really they needed to think outside the box a bit based on the number of people choosing that hotel. The hotel was also more of a resort - it was basically stuck in a time warp and reminded me of the resort in Dirty Dancing!!! It was old and tired and there were stains on the carpets, brown covers on sofa/chairs hiding a multitude of sins. The shower and bathroom were big, and the beds were clean, the pillows had rice in them. Poor value for...
