Town Lodge is one of the five brands under the City Lodge Hotel Group, which operate hotels in South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, Namibia, and Tanzania. The brand was started in 1990. It proved to be popular, and has since then, grown to a total of 13 hotels and 1,650 rooms. Town Lodges are primarily located in South Africa, with branches in Botswana.

At Town Lodge hotels, a little extra can mean a lot. They offer a perfect solution for guests who like getting that little extra with their accommodations, but prefer not to break the bank for them. Town Lodge rooms are carpeted and air-conditioned, with spacious en-suite showers and television sets with M-Net. Connecting family rooms are available in select locations upon request, and there is one room in fifty that can cater to guests with disabilities. Pool access is provided, and there is a sundowner bar for socials. Other services include same-day laundry and dry cleaning, as well Fax and photocopy services.

The style adapted by Town Lodge hotels is similar to that of City Lodge Hotels, another brand of the City Lodge Hotel Group. These hotels are also strategically built adjacent to or easily accessible via motorways. The rooms, however, are slightly smaller in comparison to those offered by City Lodge Hotels.
