Pros: Very pretty area. The restaurant was excellent. The food was top notch. The bed was very comfy and the room pleasant.

Cons: The room we were in was very dusty. We had to dust the night stands and table as well as the bathroom stand. I dont mean just light dust...I mean a layer of dust.

Pros: Breakfast was amazing! Dinner was fabulous as well. My husbands ancestor Joseph Marsh built the house. So really fascinating to stay there and read the history and look at the pictures.

Pros: Very comfortable lounge area, with entertainment on Wednesday evening and meal offer in restaurant. Breakfast excellent. Location very good for visiting Woodstock and Quechee Gorge.

Pros: We had the perfect Vermont experience! The quintessential New England charm fills every space. Kitchen and wait staff were fantastic. The location is near everything one looks for in a Vermont vacation.

Cons: WI-FI was touch and go, but the staff had all the information we needed about the area and the room had a comprehensive directory.

Pros: The area is beautiful & the inn really does have some unique charm about it.

Cons: The first room we checked into had stuff all over the floor and lots of cobwebs in the corners and edges. The extra blanket in the closet looked like it had just been slept in. The room really needed to be cleaned. The second room had less obvious trash and dirt on the floor. But it was still was fairly dirty and grimy. Could be fixed easily with a fresh coat of paint, new bedsheets & much more attention to cleaning. Overall just seemed dirty and very well used.

Cons: Dirty, dirty, dirty. My room was musty, dusty and moldy. A piece of rug was loosely placed over the main rug to e conceal whatever was underneath. The comforter and pillow comforters smelled. The young man at the front desk looked annoyed to check me in. Come on, there have to be some standards! Are these hotels inspected?

Our stay was okay but not nearly as special as I had hoped it to be and the smell initially kept me from falling asleep

Pros: The Inn is a charming, old building that makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. The Tavern, the dining room, the library and the room we stayed in are tastefully and appropriately furnished and decorated and the staff was friendly.

Cons: Despite the lovely outward appearance and the fact that I had been so excited about staying at the Inn, I was ultimately disappointed. The room was not clean (shower and toilet were fine, but there was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and so much dust on the bedframe and under the bed), the wallpaper was coming off everywhere and there was a very unpleasant sweet/damp smell that A/C and opening all windows could not get rid off. I understand that some of these issues may be due to understaffing (?) and the age of the building but I had expected more.
