Beautiful historical home

Pros: The house is amazing - beautiful, warm, inviting. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was large and allowed our group of seven to have dinner brought in so we could enjoy our last night together in a quiet setting. The staff was wonderful.

Cons: There is no elevator so you will get your exercise in! The staffed helped with the large luggage which was wonderful. The owner got upset with us for eating in although we put the dishes in the sink, reset the table, and cleaned the counter tops. The staff had forgotten to empty the dishwasher and there was no dish soap for us to hand wash the dishes.

Great location, stay at the charming main house if you can!

Pros: Great location - a few blocks away from Lark Street and 15-20 minute walk to the Empire State Plaza. The main house is beautiful, the staff is really friendly and the breakfast (bagels, yogurt, coffee, tea) was just what we needed to get the day started.

Cons: We knew our room in the Annex meant that we were staying in a different building but we didn't expect it to be in a larger apartment building; felt like we were intruding a little bit. The pillows were very soft so it was a bit of an uncomfortable sleep but everything else in the room was exactly as stated and comfortable!

Pros: Breakfast was very good. Nothing fancy but plenty of options to help give you a good start to the day. Parking was off site but very close by. Many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The inn was a great, old fashioned inn that reminded me of a brownstone in Boston or New York City. The staff was awesome and very friendly.

Cons: The city looks a little rough around the edges wherever you may travel to, but no one bothered us and we never felt unsafe.

Great location for visiting downtown Albany

Pros: We stayed in the annex building so not in the main house. The room we reserved is considered a corporate suite. It was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious. Breakfast was served in the main house so we did spend some time there. When we checked in we were told to help ourselves to anything in the fridge and when we opened it, it had some fresh fruit, juices, milk, almond milk, half & half as well as a homemade key lime pie. The breakfast was self-serve with choices including cereals, hard boiled eggs, breads, bagels, slices of banana bread, and muffins. There were 2 juices, as well as teas and coffee. There's plenty of seating options including a covered, outdoor porch as well as a garden area.

Cons: While our room was great, we would have liked to stay in the main house. The interior architecture on the ground floor was really pretty so we thought the guest rooms were probably equally charming.

Pros: Location was great. Staff were super helpful. Room was lovely and spacious.

Cons: The electrics blew whilst I was getting ready but that was my fault with my hair straighteners and not plugging them in in the bathroom. It was resolved within 10 mins so no major issue. Just a warning, plug your straighteners in in the bathroom!
