Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

Cons: Had problems with my key working for the door. The bathroom was not shown in the picture, where it would be a walk in shower.

Cons: The 1st room I was given the door was actually open and the beds where all tore up, a dresser drawer pulled out on the floor and a broom up against the wall.2nd room had hair everywhere & no trash can, hook missing from bathroom door , ripped curtain.

Pros: Beds were very comfortable, location was just about central to everywhere I wanted to visit.

Cons: The TV was unplugged when I came in, when I plugged it in I realized it didnt turn off. It was annoying to have to unplug when we left and plug back in upon return but it wasnt a deal breaker. Would have loved to have extra toilet paper in the room. Had to hit up the front desk twice over the weekend for another roll.

Cons: Immediately when walking down the hallway to my room it was evident that the hallway had not been vacuumed in awhile. The bathroom was tiny and the shower stall had cracks in the walls. The gym was filthy and not maintained.

Cons: Our room had mold on the inside of the shower curtain (we didn't discover this until the morning) and mold on the ceilings of the bathroom and the main room. The shower head was a slow trickle of water...the pressure was subpar.

Pros: Check in was quick and easy. The lady at the desk was nice. Our room was ready early.

Cons: The pillows on the bed were extremely small and flat. Not even standard size. The breakfast was just nasty looking. We couldn't make ourselves try it. It was very hard to find good parking. I have mobility issues and I have a handicapped tag. But we had to park in the back of the building and walk all the way around it and up a hill to get to the door that led to our room. I did request an accessible room when booking the room. But I guess they were full.
