About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Pros: Awful property, scruffy and in need of renovation. Our flight was delayed and Days inn sold our room so when we arrived we were turned away.
    Cons: Everything, the property is scruffy and the neighbourhood is not great.

    Not a good nights sleep

    Pros: Pick at Ft. Lauderdale was not at our Airport Terminal. There are 4 terminals at Ft. Lauderdale airport. had to go to terminal 4. Not convient.
    Cons: At arrival in room, Toilet seat was very loose. Slide to side by at least 6". Wife tightened the screws. Fixed. Staff should have done during cleaning or maintenance Faucet in bathroom sink was loose and wobbled. This is a maintenance job. This Days Inn by Wyndham needs some love. Shuttle to Cruise Port I understood to be included. $15 per person was charged. Rooms facing the highway were noisy. Loud Hot Rod cars and trucks were the problem. Get room on back side of building.
