Great Eclipse Stay

Pros: We liked that the staff was supportive and helpful. We had two rooms, a queen double and a king. They could not be joining but even though it was a busy night at the hotel (eclipse and I think a rodeo) we were put on the same floor. The rooms were clean. Another review said we would need to valet, so we did that the first night. We then learned that this was not the case as the nearby parking lot was open and had plenty of spaces so switched. The rooms had everything we needed. The breakfast was just fine for our party - oatmeal, waffles, fruit, sausage, eggs, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee, fruit juices, water - there were bagels and muffins too. Our request for a late checkout was granted and we really appreciated that. Brew House across the street is highly recommended for coffee, sweets and even a cocktail speak easy if that's your thing.

Cons: The king bedroom we stayed in had a stale smokey smell. I don't know if the person who stayed in it before us smoked or its just an old room. The room itself was fantastic and had a gorgeous view.

Cons: The staff was not friendly to the guests Breakfast was advertised as included, but it was all à la cart, and no breakfast was included with our stay.

Good, Room for improvement, but...

Pros: The beds were comfortable. The room was a nice set up.

Cons: Housekeeping didn't check on our room even to take the garbage out during our 3 night stay, so that was different, used to having to tell them not to haha. I would also add a garabe can in the bathroom, ours didn't have one, so we moved it from the kitchen. We had 5 people and had to request the bedding for the fold out, which is only a minor inconvenience, but should have been obvious imo with only 2 queen beds in the room to have the bedding already in the room, most other hotels do, so maybe this was overlooked or just forgotten; not sure.. Neither is enough to make me not return, the room was very nice and we made do.

Nice Rooms and Breakfast, Service...

Pros: The location was great, and the room was well appointed. We had no problem with the valet. The breakfast was ample and delicious, and the breakfast staff was very helpful.

Cons: The rest of the service was terrible: the directions for the TV and WiFi were on an Internet site--but we would have needed the directions first so we could get online. So, we called the front desk three times and we were hung up on, so we had to go to the front desk. (We're sure they meant to put us on hold--but then the phone system hung up our call.). The bedding for the sofa bed, which they knew we needed, was missing on check in, and, after requested, it was forgotten or delayed--so we had to go to the front desk again When asked if there was a drugstore or convenience store nearby, the front desk clerk said "I don't know,' and made no effort to find out. I found more information from the valet stand! The shower took a long time to get warm

Cons: Receptionist very bad. As soon we arrived and approached her she was aloof as if suspicious of us. We arrived late. She kept pretending as if not hearing what our greetings were . She was vey unfriendly. Never even looked at the details of booking. Rudely said that we did not have breakfast included . We had to come back and hopping to speak at any other reception person. And we did come back begging the male attendant to check. He finally said we have Breakfast included. They spoke as if we had made a mistake for booking on app or something . If conversant with the entanglement of internet hotel bookings then it did not show. If aware of what to do it terribly did not show. They kept saying they’re dealing with two hotel systems from the same desk As if we knew that. Or should quietly know that and shut .The receptionist staff at the desk is below average for such a nice hotel. Staff should be trained and serve preferably and professionally at all hours. The hotel is open 24 /7 and good services must be 24/7 -like the valet stuff . For sake of Toledo or perhaps the guests -Take the ypung girl at valet and perhaps promote her to be at receptionist. Kindly remove the receptionist at night. This is not a place for reception staff to sleep or act sleepy . It is the for the guests to do so at hotel. We had several other relatives in the hotel from across the Coutry . I apologize for the above details . But I almost felt bad for the efforts Toledo has put in developing and up grading the downtown economic growth. But we want to come back to this great hotel. And we will. Blessings to Toledo. The stay was great!

Pros: I liked almost everything.

Cons: I didn’t like that there was no one at the counter when I left. I wanted inquire about purchasing a pillow. I absolutely LOVED the pillows. Unfortunately there was no one at the counter to ask. I also tried to purchase some Tylenol. There is no scan code on the package and it was not found in the computer. I didn’t get any Tylenol, no one at the counter to ask about that either :(

Pros: Large, comfortable room. Spacious bathroom. Wonderful view of the Maumee River and downtown Toledo.
