Cons: The 1st room they gave us was not what we booked! It was substandard! They changed us to another room on the 5th floor, which was much better but not clean! The floor above us was the wedding/ballroom! Very loud music until after midnight for 2 nights. Also moving tables and chairs, very early in the morning!!! After agreeing with the check-in employee on a fee for our late checkout, the manager asked for double the price at checkout day!! Breakfast for me (western) had very limited choices.

The staff made me feel valuable and most went out of their way to help.

Pros: This is my 2nd stay here and it was much nicer than the 1st. The staff were more approachable and accommodating. There were a few of the staff that went over and above their job requirements to keep guests happy.

Cons: It wasnt as clean as I would like. In saying that it was very clean for Indias standards.

Friendly Staff Makes a Difference

Pros: I liked the friendly dining room and kitchen staff. They were always helpful and pleasant. The cleaning staff were pretty quiet and carried out their tasks in a quiet manner. Nice quiet hotel. I don't know how old the hotel is, but the room i had, served the purpose for the reason I came to Mumbai. So my comments here is only going by the type of room I booked for this trip. It was a comfortable bed to put my head down when not at the dentist. The bathroom is old and tired and you can see they do their best to keep it, as well as the rest of the room, up to a reasonable standard. You might call it wear and tear but a lot of effort is put in to make ones stay more pleasant. Breakfast was included with my booking. I had lunch in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious. Depends on your taste, if you like Indian cuisine. Overall I enjoyed my 5 days here.

Cons: I didn't like that I had to pay another $95.00AUD when I arrived at the hotel at about 5am in the morning. The flight I was on arrived in Mumbai at around 12.30am Tuesday morning on 5 March 2024. A week before I took the flight to Mumbai I called the Oriental Residency hotel and believed I was talking to the manager (he said he was the manager) informing him of my late arrival and will there be someone at the reception to give key to my room. He said it is 24hour service. I apologised that I will be late and he said that's okay, I can have the room. Upon arrival I was advised otherwise. I either had to wait until 12 noon to get into my room for a much needed sleep or pay another $95AUD. Well, I paid because I was tired from the long flight. So in effect, I paid double for one day.

Cons: Rooms are too small, and bathrooms are cramped! Barely enough space to just stand... Tariff is double for the kind of property it is. For just about 30% more, you can get The Lalit which is a hundred times better than this one...

Very good stay, conveniently locate

Pros: - Very conveniently located (8mn walk to Khar Road station) - The staff is friendly and very helpful. They must be commended. I also had my room changed as I did not want to be on the smoking floor, was very quick overall - Restaurant and bar - Wifi worked very well

Cons: - The room needs a bit of refreshing - Price is a little on the high

Pros: Nothing..

Cons: The room next door was occupied by a bunch of loud noisy people who partied until very late. I couldn't sleep at all because of their loud music, their loud , noisy, abusive talking in the hallway which made for a very disturbed stay. Don't you have any rules to prevent this kind of behavior?????

Pros: The location is perfect! It is barely 5-10 mins walk from Khar Train station. One can easily get rickshaw or taxi below the hotel. They have great breakfast spread and the staff is courteous and polite!
