Pros: Some of the personnel was friendly, location and area were quite nice. Shaffron Coffee had great coffee, bagels and other bakery.

Cons: If it wasnt 40USD per night I would probably write a completely different review. Its good to know its protected by UNESCO but moldy (black) bathroom and extremely aged yellowed barely working airco didnt fall into the protection category apparently. For this price there was no breakfast included. Other properties in the area for twice as less money had way better new/sustained facilities plus breakfast included. All the extra things you get for free by staying extra nights dont cost what they claim them to cost. Some of the personnel seemed disinterested. There was no help offered with my luggage (though I would refuse it anyway) while I was visibly exhausted on arrival and at least an offer to help is something I would expect for this price.. Even though I booked with booking, they had my passport and credit card information I had to wait for 5+ minutes at the reception while they were checking the room upon check-out..

Pros: Everything. Staff really nice, we can managed everything from here like day trip, airport shuttle, sunset cruise, mapping,etc. we also got 1 get 1 free Saffron coffee and 1 hour massage for free! Location is great, close to everything by walk.

My almost Lao home..

Pros: The outside area is lovely in the evening, location is great - super close to the night market (<5 mins), temple (<5 mins + stairs) and main restaurant area (<10 mins). All easily walkable. Nice big bed and good AC. The TV was a bonus for the afternoon I felt wiped out and needed some down time.

Cons: The rooms seemed in need of some TLC.. a lot of paint was chipped away, doors been varnishing, holes needed some plaster. It's a shame really because with a little bit of attention to the rooms it would be a really great place to stay. The WiFi also drops every 2 minutes. On arrival I was given an exchange rate that was simply made up. It took me a good 10 minutes showing reception the live exchange rate to get 50k Kip off the bill. It's not really about the money, I just didn't like getting screwed over, especially as soon as we had arrived. You expect that from a cheap hostel, but this place wasn't that cheap...

Great location

Pros: Loved the location a short stroll down to the Mekong and the night markets. It was clean and friendly. If you want to book any trips the staff will easily arrange them for you.

Cons: The only thing is that as we didnt pre book bed and breakfast we couldnt add it on. But there is a coffee shop next door of tea/coffee facilities in the room.

UNESCO building and Excellent location

Pros: A UNESCO building. Love the traditional room especially. A bit pricey though compared with other nearby hotel, so we chose the no breakfast option (which cost 5USD more if pay at hotel). Very good sun outside our G/F room with two outdoor chairs and table. Not a lot of mosquito. Weirdly big toilet but nice. Good massage attached to hotel with discount. Nice waiting area with chairs and tables at reception with a little shop selling handicrafts like those sold in the night market. Price was surprisingly OK. Excellent location. Rooms are ready slightly before our check-in time.

Cons: Some staff who work at the check-in counter did not quite understand English, so when we made a reservation for the massage he did not write down out booking on the book until we reminded him, but he ended up making reservation for one instead of two people though I showed him the buy one get one free coupon given by their hotel. But they managed to find us one more massageur 15 minutes after the booking time (although they initially insisted on asking one us not to have the massage that night) when they learnt of their mistake and a staffer with much better English came to us. Staff was polite but not exceptionally friendly like some other Luang Prabang hotel we went to. Water at shower was either very cold or very hot, but supply of hot water was stable. Room was a bit dark but opening the wooden windows solved the problem. Twin room was expensive so we chose a double room. Bed with ok size though. Tuk Tuk and Kuang Si Waterfall transport booked through the front desk was a bit expensive than other places.

Pros: Great location, close to everything - night market, museum, coffee shops, restaurants, ATMs, and foreign currency exchange shop. A safe and well-lit area.

Cons: We were given a room with dark walls (looks like its in the process of getting re-painted) so the room was a bit gloomy but it was cleaned everyday and everything works well.

Wonderful stay in a great...

Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel, located in a nice little street, in a fantastic location, 50 metres from the night market and 50 metres from the river with all its night time restaurants and day time boat tours. Hotel staff very helpful and were great when we left a few things in our room when we checked out, the staff were extremely helpful and responsive in getting them to us at our next destination in Loas. Couldn't have asked for more.

Pros: Location was close to the night market and the room was clean.

Cons: I asked for a late checkout and even though my room was not being used, they only gave me one hour more for free and wanted to charge me for more. I didnt realize that i had booked a more expensive room and the person at the front desk did not explain that i was in a suite. I did not realize that i was in a suite since it was what i thought of as a normal sized hotel room. at $65 per night, this hotel room was far more expensive than the other accommodations in the same area. As an American solo traveler who likes to meet others, I did not like that there were no other English speakers in this hotel.
