Excellent location

Pros: Location is excellent and the rooms were pretty comfortable and clean. We checked in at 8:00 pm and the person at reception was not very friendly but apart from that our stay was good.

Pros: The hotel is very well placed. The path to the beach is quick and nice to walk. The hotel is small and very charmingly decorated. It has everything you need. The coffee station with delicious cookies and fruit was a nice surprise.

Nice comfortable stay at Santa...

Pros: The location is very good, we walked to down town and the beach. Room and property was very clean. Personel was very friendly. We had to pay for parking our car. There is no breakfast, but we could take coffee, tea or water and cakes or fruit for free. That was very good. It was a good room, spacious and nice. Nice swimming pool and hot tub.

Affordable beach getaway within walking...

Pros: The size and arrangement of the room made it feel more like a suite than a standard room. The decor was really lovely. The housekeeping staff were helpful and accommodating. The patio eating area near the pool was vibrant and clean. Pool towels were kept stocked. There was a free coffee/tea bar that was stocked and available 24 hours. The bathroom vanity had everything we needed from a hair dryer to a three way lighted mirror. We had a king room and the bed was very comfortable and appointed with plenty of pillows. Plenty of stylish lamps in the room and the furniture was passable comfortable for a hotel room. The hotel is in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. It is a gorgeous property. I believe they had bike and other rentals available but we didn't use them. The harbor is only a block away. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We took the train up from LA and didn't rent a car. We were able to do everything we wanted to do on this trip by foot. However, if you are going to the botanical gardens, the mission, or Montecito, you will want probably want to find transportation. We walked to the courthouse which is a little over 2 miles roundtrip but is just a block from State St. (the main thoroughfare).

Cons: Noise. We could hear the party upstairs, the staff and guests in the hallways. Our room was also next to the pool which made for a great view but we had to keep the curtains closed for a lot of our stay. The fridge serves as their mini bar which made bringing our own water or leftovers back to the hotel kind of pointless. They charge $6 per bottled water. We had an issue at check in where the employ didn't understand the nature of a prepaid booking. Or if she did, she couldn't articulate that. She quoted me a much higher rate than what we had already pre-paid at Booking.com. Luckily the manager on staff was able to sort things quickly. Still, I felt like a Karen having to ask to speak with the manager. But the agent at the desk couldn't satisfy that I was not going to be charged twice or the higher price. The AC/Heater unit does not have a fan option which meant that we couldn't use that as white noise to sleep which we needed because of all the ambient noises from the hallway and upstairs. We ended up using a white noise app.

Disappointing stay despite a convenient...

Pros: Location is great and there a few design elements that stand out like wallpaper in the bedroom and light fixtures in the bathroom. I also enjoyed the tea and cookies in the lobby, as well as complementary welcome drinks.

Cons: Make no mistake. Despite some beautiful design elements, this property is slightly a step above a motel. Uncomfortable bed with thread-bare, scratchy sheets. A fold-out couch that barely fits one person, much less two and squeaks every time you move. No central air/heating, but rather old school individual units. Weakest water pressure I’ve ever experienced and sadly no hot water our first morning. Taking a cold shower when it’s 50deg and raining outside does not feel like a vacation. And the toilet would intermittently make a noise that sounded like gun shots. Flushing the toilet woke up the entire family at 0130am the first night. Cleaning staff made the bed and brought towels. They didn’t even bother putting a dirty plate in the sink or washing any of the dishes.
