Cons: The gym was non existent. To use the sauna you had to be staying on the 24 or 25 floor. The staff was not friendly, except for the guy serving complementary tea. Would not stay here again.

Pros: The hotel was beautiful. For being in a foreign country the staff spoke english well enough to communicate about almost everything I needed and they were very polite. Additionally, the location (right on Nanjing road) couldn't have been better.

Cons: The internet was atrocious. It was the only thing I really didn't like about the hotel.

Pros: A very center location in the downtown, very convenient access to the public transportation, direct connection to the pedestrian shopping street of Nanjing Road.

Cons: Did not feel a warm welcome smile from the staff at the front desk. Sound insulation of the room door is not so good.

Wonderful

This is a very nice hotel for the price. It backs up on a major pedestrian street with hotels, shops and restaurants at your doorstep. Although English is not widely spoken the staff was friendly and eager to at least try and help. Don't let the Ramada name mislead you, this is a much more upscale hotel than the Ramada's located in the U.S.

Pros: Good location, clean hotel and clean rooms. Very nice for the price.

Cons: The restaurants closed down early considering the size and location of the hotel.

The location is perfect for Shanghai. It is like being in the middle of time square in New York. The basic room is very average, but clean. The staff is impossible to get any help from. I will never stay here again. On every other visit to shanghai (many times for business) the staffs at the various hotels have been very friendly and helpful. Here they pull attitude, and I don't need it.

Pros: Perfect location in shanghai.

Cons: Most unfriendly staff of any hotel I have ever stayed in.

The Shanghai Ramada Plaza was located on busy road. Rooms were well-appointed; decor was serene, neutral colors. We were completely pleased with this random selection.

Pros: Great location, clean, well-furnished rooms, helpful staff despite language challenges.

The Ramada Plaza Shanghai is in the middle of a busy city. Rooms were very nice. Staff was great. Help was everywhere. The walking mall was right out the back door. We were within walking distance from the river front. They don't turn the air conditioning on until April 1. Got a little stuffy couple of nights.

Pros: It was right on the walking mall.

Cons: The air conditioning was not working in the rooms.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Shanghai. Located on Pedestrian Walk, the main shopping area. Close to great restaurants.

Pros: Beautiful marble and wood throughout. Gorgeous hotel

Cons: The Only negative thing was the room temperature was very warm
