    Wonderful

    Great hotel for a short family stay in the centre of Essaouira

    Pros: The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, helpful and professional without being over-bearing. We enjoyed the quality and variety available at breakfast. We were upgraded to a sea view room which was beautiful and very spacious for 2 adults and 2 children. The location was excellent, right by the beach and a gentle, short walk into the medina. There are lots of areas in the hotel to relax in, both in the sunshine and in the shade. We felt that we had enough space away from other guests. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

    Brilliant location, highly recommend.

    Pros: The location was great. Very close to beach and also the medina. Balcony view onto sea is wonderful. The facilities are very good - we used the pool and the beachfront. Good to be able to use the sea spa for free every day for an hour. Breakfasts were excellent.

    Pros: Very nice room and comfortable bed. Nice pool area and hotel is close to the beach.
    Cons: Quite expensive compared to other accommodations you can find closeby. Don't go for dinner to the beach restaurant. Food was not good and it was expensive. Staff was very nice and kind but service was not good. There is a private lounge area by the beach but there were not enough umbrellas for each sun bed, so it was not possible to use that area.

    Lovely break by the seaside

    Pros: Its right in the seafront a short distance away from the Medina. The pool area is super. The Dining Room and lobby are nice and bright and overlook the sea. The staff are absolutely lovely and so helpful.

    Fantastic, we will be back

    Pros: Amazing staff! In particular, Aziz, the bar manager, and his fantastic team, Fatima Zahra and Oussef, thank you for your hospitality. Also to the housekeeping team, who are extremely attentive and make up the rooms twice daily with lovely extra touches. Beautiful views and a perfect location.
    Cons: Facilities (bathrooms) could do with an upgrade and breakfast could have a bit more variety but no big deal overall.

    As good as I remembered it from 8 years ago ...

    Pros: The location was convenient for both the town and the beach. Good to have a swimming pool available. Very comfortable beds. Balcony overlooking the pool. Safe, fridge and kettle provided. Excellent breakfast buffet with an amazing array of items to choose. M restaurant very good. Very helpful staff on reception, arranged two good excursions for us.
    Cons: Breakfast service a bit disorganised and slow. Some room maintenance needed eg damaged wardrobe doors, extractor fans in toilet and bathroom not working. Didn't like the insects, lots of ants and some beetles (possibly cockroaches), mainly in the toilet room.

    Pros: Great location and the facilities are as expected for this price.
    Cons: We had a dispute over the cost charged for adding an extra night rather than going to Marrakech after the earthquake. The price charged for 1 night was more than the price for the other two nights. The GM blamed it on booking.com (which I don't accept) but did make an effort to off-set some of the cost (not entirely to our satisfaction though). However, the lengthy debate over 3 days detracted from the experience. If not for that, then we would have rated it higher.

    Average. Needs some repair. Overall staff was friendly except one lady who checked us out. She was unpleasant.

    Pros: Location is good. Beautiful pool and decent gym. Walking distance to Medina
    Cons: The building is dated and in much needed repair. A lot of small items. Also our ac didnt work. It was just blowing air.

    Disappointing

    from all my moroccan hotels this was the worst one. I dont recommend it.

    Pros: Just a few things that were really good - authentic hammam (though its inconvenient that you need to book in advance and you cant just go there for 5-10 minutes after swimming pool as in many other places. The heated swimming pool with seawater is great. And the location is great. Everything else was disappointing.
    Cons: 1) food in beach restaurant was really awful, it seemed that the cook doesnt know how to use salt and pepper and he doesnt care about what he do. 2) I didnt manage to try breakfast because it finishes at 10.30 and i had a very bad night there and overslept. 3) room service was almost ok but i had to wait about 50 minutes for my dinner and finally one of the dishes was not what i ordered - i had to call them again and to wait again. 4) the most terrible thing was that they were painting wooden doors of the rooms on my floor and the smell of this paint was all over in my room and caused allergy and headache. I think its completely unacceptable for the 5-star hotel (and for any other hotel) to make such repair things when you have guests. If i were the owner I would fire those who let this happen. 5) the noise from the street is really disturbing at night even with closed window so I dont advise to take seaview rooms. Pool view should be quieter. 6) massage was also disappointing. The massage lady seemed very tired and didnt want to work hard. She just took a lot of oil and was gently touching my legs and back for an hour. I learnt to do massage so i know how to differ good massage from bad one.
