Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

The stay was pleasant other...

Pros: Breakfast was good. Had it of had biscuits and gravey it would have been great!!

Cons: On the day I left the facility was out of hot water, so I had to take a cold shower.

Don't waste your money!!

Pros: Nothing. This place should be closed up for a much needed overhaul!

Cons: Filthy. The carpet in our room had not been vacuumed in several stays. Hair everywhere. Drug deals happening in the parking lot. People hooting and hollering at all hours of the night right outside our door that you could see light thru so those seals were shot. The elevator that was working had not been recertified since Aug of 2022 (over a year and a half ago) and it showed (lights not working, floor felt like it had water damage and soft spots). Stairs and walkway to our room showed signs of structural damage. The other staircase and elevator were not usable. Staff was not very friendly and some were downright rude. Pool was freezing and had not been skimmed in a while for all of the crap floating in it. The continental breakfast was barely there and what was available was disgusting. Ice machine was beyond filthy. For over $200 per night for the room we expected much more.

Conveniently located oasis.

Pros: Very convenient to all surrounding areas. They were sprucing up the landscape, so that was nice. The courtyard pool was nice. The staff were helpful and nice.

Cons: The breakfast was dismal. There should be healthy options like greek yogurt, oatmeal and fruit, not just sugar and carbs.

Cons: Stairs near my room were shut down on day 2. Elevator was rough at best. Breakfast was passable. Room lighting was not great.
