About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Pros: It was close to downtown Charlotte

Cons: The hotel wasn’t clean.There are stains on the carpet everywhere you go. The sheets were stained and had to be replaced. The dumpster in the parking lot hadn’t been dumped in months it looked like trash was everywhere. The tub in our bathroom had a lot of hair in it. Overall creepy hotel. I had to clean an already cleaned room smh! I should have took pictures so they can’t say I’m lying but oh well.

Cons: VERY dated. Carpeting was filthy. Chipped paint in rooms. No restaurants within walking distance. Elevator out of service. Had to use freight elevator. Room had smell of old cigarette smoke. We booked here only because of the name. My husband has had good luck with La Quinta in past. Will pay more in future. Should have guessed!!!

Pros: Good shuttle service. Classic but sparse breakfast spread though available since 5 am so that is nice. Simple check in. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable.

Cons: I didn't like how filthy the carpet was in the hallway. My room FIRST room was on the fourth floor. As soon as I got off the elevator is smelled so bad. Hair was in the sink, beds sunken in, ac unit filthy, tub was disgusting. Requested another room, no better. Dusty crown molden, hair on towels, and dead bed bugs in the corners of the room. I had my son with me and refused to let him stay in that room. Immediately requested a refund. Housekeeping left a note saying they cleaned the room from top to bottom. No way!!!!! Probably just remade the bed and put "clean" lining in the bathroom. Left there and will never go back.

Pros: Loved very comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. Good breakfast plus free shuttle bus back to airport whenever needed

Cons: Only objection was the filthy rugs in hallway. Otherwise a good hotel in all other respects. Would stay there again.

Cons: The staff was not helpful. They did not have my reservation that I had confirmation email for. The guy at the front desk just said he didn't have a reservation and then offered absolutely no help. I called their reservation number, and they offered a room at a much higher price and then came down. we ended up getting a room at another hotel
