About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

Pros: The staff were ok.

Cons: La Quinta Inn, I have always stayed at La Quinta when traveling for work. Most of my travels were in the Bay Area. However, this was my first stay in Bakersfield, California. I was definitely disappointed in the room from the floor up. I would rate this La Quinta as the worst like a motel 6 on the main strip. It was very upsetting and disappointing. Shame on La Quinta to charge rates so high for deplorable conditions. I will never stay, nor would I recommend this La Quinta.

Cons: The shower was terrible, the workmanship in the bathroom was terrible. We booked 3 rooms and we were all in different locations of the Hotel. My daughters room smelled like something died in it. They gave her another room.there was a homeless man by ours

Pros: The hotel is located near the freeway. The exterior of the hotel looks pretty good.

Cons: I rarely leave such a negative review but our experience was that bad. A hotel room, regardless of price, should always be clean. That is the minimum. We found a tissue between the sheets, sticky spots all over the floor, and hair in the shower, among other things. It was gross. Fortunately, we did not have any food that needed to be kept cold because there was a huge space in a cabinet where a refrigerator used to be. And then there was the noise. There was a party next to our room, with people coming and going until 4:30 in the morning. We were completely unable to sleep due to the shouting, music, horns honking, and sounds of vomiting. It was the least restful night we can remember. We reported our woeful experience at check-out.

It was okay

Pros: The check-in guy was super nice and welcoming. It was close to the arena that we were attending in event to and right next to the freeway which was convieniant for traveling.

Cons: The room did not seem clean though, I had to wipe it down myself. There was stains on the chair and the back on the bed on the floor was dirty. For one night it was ok. But again, I did have to clean before I settled down..

Cons: The room floor was dirty. The bathtub had black rings and blood spots The sheets were stained and smelled.We had to go buy sheats and towels
