About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Convenient location, comfortable, and good...

    Pros: The front desk staff was very nice, Heaven Leigh was knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and had a welcoming smile on her face with every guest that came in. The room was a good size, it was comfortable, had plenty of mirrors, and electrical outlets (which is important when there is more than one woman getting ready). There was water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby all the time! It was close to downtown Naples, maybe an 8 minute drive in traffic. The hotel was quiet, no shouting in the hallways or banging on walls. The curtains blocked out the daylight so well we were able to sleep in a bit. I will definitely stay here again!
    Cons: The desk chair was dirty, but I just put a towel down on it when I had to use that chair. The bathroom tub had a large chip in it, and the rooms could use some updating.

    Pros: Free parking!
    Cons: Some sort of beetles spotted in the bathroom on arrival and later in the room. Room was subjected to noise from other guests several times talking loudly in the corridor and whilst waiting for the elevator. Not the fault of the hotel of course, I just wish we hadn't had to travel in Spring Break. We decided to move out after the first night of a booked three night stay.

    Just OK stay.

    Pros: The location is fairly close to downtown, with Olive Garden at the same plaza. Bit wear but clean room. The staff was helpful.
    Cons: Breakfast - yes, it's there. With the same stuff all 3 days :( Quite cheap and low-quality products. The room was in decent condition, with a weird layout - sink and fixtures were not inside the bathroom but upon the entrance door. There was super annoying noise from the building's central AC compressor all night. Even earplugs didn't help much.
