About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

Cons: Beds are wearing and mattresses are very loud just to roll over. Farely comfortable but loud. Also not enough good lighting. Rooms are dark and bathroom lighting is terrible for makeup applications. Very low lighting throughout.

From the staff to the...

Pros: From the moment we walked in, the front staff was so welcoming and considerate. I was traveling alone with my 2 boys and the lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing with them and me. We had wings at the bar area, where my kids played pool and Foosball and I got to relax and have an adult beverage with the ease of knowing we didn't have to leave or order out for food. While my boys were bummed about no pool inside, I will be staying here next time just because of the staff!

Pros: The only thing that was acceptable on this trip was that the hotel was convenient to the activity we were attending. Room was clean and a basic hotel room, the beds had a horrible sag to them and were very uncomfortable. The chair in my room had definitely seen better days, It was torn and very stained, we were afraid to touch it or to put anything on it. The floor was more acceptable than that chair. The breakfast was satisfactory.

Cons: I received a call from the hotel prior to my arrival informing me that the room I booked was not going to be available to me due to a plumbing issue. There was no kind of compensation offered for this inconvenience. I was given a down graded room and told the only thing that the attendant could give were rewards points or something from the nonexistant gift shop. I was very disappointed that she did not lower the cost of the down grade of the room. A customer expecting one thing and being given something different is not good business and not offering some sort of compensation was not acceptable. I don't think I will be staying with La Quinta in the future.

Pros: Staff was friendly.

Cons: Room was dirty and very outdated. Beds were uncomfortable. Pillows were terrible, and there needs to be more pillows on each bed. Air-conditioner was so loud it kept us up most of the night. Price was outrageous for how bad it was. We paid 250 for a 2 queen bed room and it was just not worth it. Price was elevated no doubt because NBA All Star was in town. Still should NOT have been that pricey for such low quality. Will never stay at a LaQuinta again..

Pros: Every time I travel to Indy for work I stay here. Their hotel, and staff are exceptional, and I am never disappointed.
