About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    It was awful.

    Cons: The place is very dirty. In my second night a guy was punching doors all over the floor and nobody from the hotel went there to see what was happening. There was no breakfast available.

    Pros: When I finally got a decent room, it was quiet.
    Cons: The staff were unfriendly and almost hostile. The first room I was shown to smelled and the air conditioner made a really loud, unbearable racket. The key card was very difficult to use. It took several tries to open the door.

    Cons: Smelled like smoke even though it says 100% smoke free. Beds hard, pillows felt weird, sheets hard and scratchy, they advertised free breakfast but they had no breakfast

    Very disappointed since this particular, the La Quinta was given a three star rating, which we total

    Pros: The bed was comfortable. The television was great. The fridge and microwave were fine.
    Cons: There was no hot water for showers. The sofa was disgustingly, dirty and torn. The rug was in poor condition with stains. The edge of the tub had a cigarette burn in this non-smoking room. The room had a slight smell of a previous smoker, although it was listed as a non-smoking room online. there was no breakfast, although it was advertised as offering one. We were told it was due to Covid, but no Discount was so far that therefore, it would certainly not a three star rating by any means. That location would not be above a one and a half star barely at two.

    Pros: It was a decent area
    Cons: No continental breakfast(false advertising) The cleanliness was very very poor Things in room were broken Sink drained slowly Shower curtain was nasty(not clean) Cable wasn’t working on tv Microwave wasn’t clean and didn’t have a plate in it so I could microwave my food First room and 2nd room was very dusty ( had to buy cleaning products from Walmart and clean the room) 1st room didn’t smell freshly cleaned at all Hallway mirrors and table dirty. My key card didn’t work to my first room at all And half of the staff didn’t speak English
