About La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

 

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

 

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Hotel branches in Canada, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras area also included in this number, segregated under the La Quinta Inn & Suites, La Quinta Inn and the LQ Hotel brands.

    Cons: The staff were not pleasant and not helpful. Showed no compassion only offered excuses. When I told them I really couldn’t afford to double pay he said so you are checking out. The pool.

    Home away from home

    Pros: I liked how clean the hotel was on the outside and inside. The staff was friendly and understanding. The location was conveniently located to things that were kids friendly, like Sir Gooney's. That breakfast was delicious and had so many varieties! I have a fur baby that I will bring next time. And yes, I will spread the word on the property!
    Cons: The Internet was not the best. And maybe it was more geography related, but the signal wasn't as strong. And our door was missing from the room. We got the room with the pullout sofa and bed separated. But the door was missing. Also, when the reservation says 4, there are never the correct number of towels and rags to accommodate. This happened at every hotel we stayed at, so I'm assuming that 3 is the cut off normally.

    Pros: The pool was enclosed from the strong cool winds. Friendly employees, great location with ease of access
    Cons: Mystery stains all over pull out sofa, out of date mattress in couch, and no covering on it, bit of mold underneath (I was eek out and didn't get to take a photo, my dummy brain lol). The closet door came off railing, and there's no actual tub (not sure if it was just my room or whole), only a shower. Tough with cleaning a 3 year old and under in a shower. Strange odor smell creeps in and out. I don't understand how a big company doesn't have "enough" funds to not update the rooms??? I know it's not the staff fault of the CEOs or whomever not care for their properties! Unless management is not stepping up to the plates!!! Not enough caring people in the world, money has rooted all to greed. With that being said, they can't afford enough employess to keep rooms up-to-date, not fair to staff to overwork them with a whole hotel, motel, and inn's to clean/maintenance. Customers pay too much money for outdated rooms and mystery stains. And surely employees are probably getting pocket change for their hard work. Shame on the States: Wish washy economic system of misery.

    I am thrilled that we...

    Pros: Loved the space in the room along with the amenities at the facility, a very welcomed extra treat was the fresh coffee bar at 8pm. Very much needed after a long day of traveling. The indoor pool and hours were nice for the three kids traveling with me as well!
    Cons: the breakfast area seemed to be working out some issues during our stay. Very congested and a lot of options took awhile to refill

    For what we paid it...

    Pros: It was easily located to places we were going to, the breakfast was good.
    Cons: The service was ok, staff didnt really give off a good vibe nor did I feel they were listening. Told them there was a spill of ice cream on the elevator and second floor coming out and it never got cleaned the day and night we were there. Pool area was filthy, the room was clean enough but in dire need of a repainting

    Pros: The property is in a great area
    Cons: Everything went well until it was time for bed. My wife and myself found bed bugs in both beds causing my 3 kids and my wife to sleep on the pullout couch. I slept on computer. When I spoke with the front desk clerk, she stated there wasn’t a manager on duty but she will inform him. I still haven’t received a phone call or any type of compensation for my unfortunate night.

    Probably wont stay here again.

    Pros: Bed was comfortable
    Cons: They put us in the absolute furthest room away from the elevator! I don’t know what was above or beneath our room but there was a high pitched sound that we could hear when trying to sleep. We didn’t notice until it was quiet, it was gone in the morning.
