Servicing guests from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Honduras, La Quinta Inns & Suites started with humble beginnings in 1968 during the HemisFair also known as the San Antonio Texas World’s Fair. Founded and built by entrepreneur Sam and Phil Bharshop, they built the La Quinta Inn or the “The Country Villa Inn” and later on became the first hotel under the successful brand La Quinta Inn & Suites.

The first ever La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in San Antonio, Texas also served as the headquarters of the brand. It was later on relocated to Irving, Texas in 1999. In 2005, LQ Corporation, the company behind the La Quinta hotel brands agreed to be acquired by the Blackstone Group for a whopping $3.4 billion, both in cash and in debt. The merger materialized and was completed in January of 2006.

At present, company and franchised hotels under the La Quinta Inn & Suites are consisted of more than 87,500 rooms, around 890 properties in total located in different locations in all the 48 states in the United States. Pros: It was conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping options and when I had difficulties with my bank card getting declined the front desk workers were amazingly helpful and patient as we worked out a solution.

Cons: Unfortunately, the walls are a little on the thin side, we could hear the people around us fairly easily and was woken up multiple times by slamming doors.

Pros: Clean, friendly, quiet, pool and breakfast.

Cons: We had a very slow drain. We were there for a quick overnight stay. We did report it in the morning so that it could be repaired for the next guest. Perhaps checking drains could be a part of the cleaning staff duty. We had a great stay otherwise.

Nice stay, bad coffee, see you above.

Pros: Friendly staff, clean rooms, and for a place that allows pets, clean bedding which is very important. I like that they will accommodate those who let them know they will arrive early.

Cons: Prices were a bit inflated, but I imagine that is because it was homecoming weekend. Dislike the new dingy gray exterior paint. Also, the hotel should take a page from KwkTrips book and provide some coffee that has a bit of robust flavor rather than the very bland and almost clear cheap truck stop stuff that is offered in lobby. Barely drinkable .It is 2023 after all, and would not be a significant cost increase for Wyndham. And nit picky as a coffee critique is, I think this inexpensive tweak would cause your reviews to rise. Funny as it is.

Wonderful

Pros: Clean, well kept pool in a great enclosure. Good hot breakfast was unexpected. Extremely friendly & helpful staff. No problem with early checkin. Vert spacious rooms with comfortable form bed.

Cons: Ongoing construction not best look on exterior and interior breakfast room, but it didnt really affect us much. Smallish breakfast room was adequate for midweek, but probably quite crowded on busier weekend.
