Pros: Staff were extremely nice and welcoming!
One of the best breakfast buffets ever!
Cons: The bathrooms need an update, and/or maintenance check!

Exceeded Our Expectations!
Pros: Hotel Santa Prisca far exceeded our expectations. My husband & I are retired airline crew, so we have stayed in hundreds of hotels in our 30 years each in these jobs. We will definitely come back here again because of the convenient location, the terrific & helpful staff, and for the in-house restaurant that provided us with an exceptional breakfast every morning, and also dinner when we were just too tired to venture out elsewhere to try The Local Fare... Kudos to their Chef! The room was small, but it was very quiet with no street noise, and we had a room facing Via Marmorata. I would have expected street noise, but no! There were so many bistros & restaurants in walking distance, and grocery & sundries shops just steps away. We walked to Circo Massimo & Terme di Caracalla in less than 10 minutes, and to Il Colosseo in 15 minutes .... and we are not so young --- 72 and 80 years old. Do not hesitate to book a room here. It is so worth the value for the cost.
Cons: Lobby are was not very attractive... but, that is our only negative comment. To off-set that, if you are history enthusiasts, Hotel Santa Prisca actually displays THREE ANCIENT AMPHORAE in their Lobby that were discovered when the hotel was built. AMAZING!!! They have a cute little Cocktail Bar Area where Nikko brought us Negronis and snacks before dinner.

Very Good
A great bargain but a little out of the center
Pros: This is a budget hotel. Nothing fancy and that's just fine. The prices are quite good for Rome. Sure, you can find something 'nicer' but not in this price range. They are renovating an entire floor now, so it's not clear what that will do to prices. The shower was small and had just a plastic curtain. One at a time in the bathroom: small. Bed was good (double) but fills the room. Staff is good: some english spoken. Breakfast was decent: no bananas a negative. Nothing 'on demand' (eg, fried eggs). Prices for drinks and food very reasonable. Staff are good people. But the best part is the location. Testaccio is a great part of town. You have to get out and explore it (eg, 2 great local piazzas). If you want to get to the center, take either a bus or a taxi. For 10 euros you can go anywhere. I took buses to all parts of town (Vatican, Borghese, P Navona). Decent little terrace to relax.
Cons: Nothing.

Pleasant
Ok
Pros: The hotel i imagine in summer would have a very different atmosphere. The dining area inside was basic but definitely nothing to write home about.
The hotel room was very clean but small.
Cons: The bedroom did not have any tea/coffee making facilities or a bar fridge. So a coffee in the morning seemed out of the question because I asked for one to be brought to the room at 6:55am and the reception desk told me that they couldn't do that for 5 minutes as the kitchen was closed until 7am... that's ok I could wait 5 minutes but 2 hrs later still no coffee or room service.
I felt the service was not representative of the generous spirt of the majority of the Italian community... which was a little let down to my experience.
There was also building work being carried out in the hotel so constant banging and hammering was heard in my room.

Pros: I am a returning guest to Santa prisca. The location is excellent, with the Piramide metro station less than 10 minutes away, and Ostiense train station about 15 minutes away, which makes reaching the Fiumicino Airport very simple. I rate their breakfast as excellent, although it's a matter of personal choice. They have a special section for persons with specific dietary requirements (lactose-free, etc.). The rooms are kept very clean. All in all, Santa Prisca remains one of the best value for money hotels in Rome city centre.
Cons: During my last visit, I had problems with the Wi-Fi signal strength, but this was a one-time occurence, as I have never had that problem before.

A great hotel in Rome!
Pros: Very conveniently located close to Ostiense station. Tram and bus right in front of the hotel. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, very helpful staff. A great variety for breakfast (I truly appreciated the gluten free stuff) and very tasty fresh meals in the restaurant.
Cons: Despite the double glazed windows, you could still hear the traffic. Much better than being in touristic place and hearing tourists partying all night thought. Also the shower was rather tiny! And WiFi in my room was very weak.

Cons: Slightly retro vibe. Room a bit small with no view.

Wonderful
I couldn't find a better hotel within walking distance of the Colosseum with parking.
Pros: Perfect spacious car parking, location is not far from Coliseum (20-25min walk), the bus stop is near the hotel. Helpful staff. Tasty sweets and fruit salad for breakfast.
Cons: If you are traveling by car you can drive to the hotel parking only from "Via Asinio Pollione". It's quite a confusing ride. Google Navigator leads incorrectly when you set a destination as "Hotel Santa Prisca". Better choose "Via Asinio Pollione" as a destination point. The shower stall is cramped. The shelf in it is slippery, and the shampoo constantly tips over and falls. The mattress is not very good for those with back problems.

Very Poor
Great people, lousy facility.
Pros: The breakfast was quite good, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Cons: The room was quite depressing, you should modernize it. The bathroom is an abomination. The shower is very, very small, I had to turn sideways just to enter the shower and if you drop the soap, there is no way to pick it up. The toilet and the bidet are poor placed. In order to use the toilet, you practically have to sit sideways. There have got to be legal architectural standards in Italy, I very much doubt that this bathroom meets those standards or any standard of comfort. Let's get into the 21st century.

Very good
Pros: Great location. Testaccio is great for its restaurants and it's close enough to the city centre. The whole place is very old-fashioned in an Italian way, with the tiles and the furniture; either you like it or you don't; I wouldn't give it much importance. A plus is the breakfast -it's not super-abundant BUT it has everything a 'continental breakfast' entails, which is rather uncommon in Italy.
Cons: There is a problem with the heating. Like in all of Italy, heating is central, so the heating is on and off at certain times of the day without possibility to adjust. It was VERY hot in the room and I had to sleep with an open window - in (a mild) DECEMBER. I heard other customers complaining about it but there was nothing the staff could do about it, apparently.
