Nicely cleaned, staff was helpful, and it was very comfortable all around.

Small issues...

Pros: The decor, staff, location, rooftop bar views were all great. We had some drinks and food on our stay too, all very good, food was particularly nice. Location is great, lots of nice bars and restaurants within walking distance, and subway options close by.

Cons: Its maybe a personal bug bear....All the advertisements on the web and social media, even for our room selection on the site showed river views. We were so dissapointed to have a room with no view nor privacy as there was an apartment balcony right outside our window. So blinds were down for the duration. Also, we were out early every day returning late afternoon to find our rooms had not been cleaned. Staff did knock to clean but at a time when we were preparing to head back out for the evening./showering. Through our 5 night stay, the rooms were done twice. We had put some clothes on top shelf of wardrobe, when taking clothes down, they were covered in dust. Finally word of warning bed corners, with the room being a little tight we did manage to clip our shins a few times. It's a lovely hotel, and staff were nice, but I need to give an honest view of our experience.

Cons: The reception staff was not helpful at all. Some examples: 1) we asked to borrow an adapter for the American electricity outlets as we wanted to charge our camera. The receptionist told us that they had no adapters and that we should go to a nearby CVS to buy one. Well, CVS had no adapters and, on top of it, when we asked another receptionist for it the next day, suddenly they had a charger that they could borrow. (But we were lucky because apparently this receptionist was new and really tried to help - she was not yet poisoned by the overall negative attitude of her colleagues..) Best part of the story: the borrowed charger did not work, we returned it immediately, and still the staff had the audacity to ask on check out if we had returned it.. 2) The hotel proudly advertises the rooftop bar. However, also non-hotel guests and private events are allowed which leads to a very busy and non-relaxing atmosphere. Again, the reception staff was not helpful in this matter, as they did not want to help us with a seat reservation (feel free to go upstairs and check it yourself.. is not what a guest wants to hear). Also asked about popular hours and recommendations for a good time, the receptionist could not provide any helpful information. Either this receptionist was clueless (poor service) or did not want to help us (even poorer service). Overall we did not feel welcomed by the staff which is a shame for a hotel of this category (or of the category that its trying to be)
