About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Would not stay again.

Pros: The location was nice.

Cons: No microwave, coffee machine, ice bucket, or cups in room. The elevator and hallways are run down and not pleasing to look at. No hot breakfast offered, just a brown bagged breakfast.

Run Down & Filthy.

Pros: Hot water with good pressure. Swimming pool. Lots of parking. Heater in the room worked good. Top of the bed (not including the bed skirts) looked clean.

Cons: Filthy. Run down. Peeling wallpaper, dirty toilet, dirty curtains & bed skirts. Dirty walls with something dripping down the walls under the dirty pictures on the walls. Ceiling tiles need to be replaced. Many doors in the hallway were in disrepair and looked like they have been kicked in. We reserved a king bed only to get there are get 2 queen beds.

Cons: the place is falling apart. You can't even walk without tripping into the lobby, the tile is all broken and covered with a carpet. The bathroom's ceiling is spotted with mold. All in all they could do with a face lift and a really good cleaning!

Stay was acceptable, however there...

Pros: The room is good and clean, Staff are so friendly, but the pool is small and was so busy.

Cons: We got surprised that there is no breakfast as mentioned in the reservation, The front desk said that they run out of supplies; which is so weird!! Lastly they were so kind and offered juice and coffee.

Cons: False information about facilities...No Pool, no restaurant as advertised. Disgusting and very very poor quality breakfast...a frozen sandwich with a thin slice of sausage laden with preservatives and sodium.... The restaurant has been closed for over 6 months. The pool has not been working for quite some time ..and they have no idea when it will be repaired. No microwave in the room... Rooms need maintenance. There are other facilities for the same price or even less...but chose this place since it has a pool. Why advertise when there are no functional facilities and build expectations of customers from out of town???? Why offer substandard breakfast if you can't offer a decent breakfast??? It actually gives a bad reputation..! There are lots of restaurants close to the hotel that offer decent breakfast at reasonable prices. This may be the worst facility of the Wyndham group. It's a shame they leave this place to rot. It's actually a nicely laid out building, though old. It could be a very good place if the company would keep it up. This place gives the feel of a place that is deemed to be condemned.

Cons: Our bathroom was awful.Ceiling was all mold!Thankfully we only had 1 night.The entrance into the hotel is falling apart. The tiles are all cracked and broken and inside the flooring is missing large sections under carpeting.Dangerous like this long time

Cons: The property is old, has not been well maintained, and is clearly in need of a serious update. Days Inn bought the place and never did anything to make it better.

Cons: The building is outdated and unkempt. The room was not clean. The shower curtain had mold on it. The outlet in the bathroom did not work to operate the hairdryer.
