Pros: The bed was the most redeeming factor in the stay. That and free parking on site.

Cons: No amenities in bathroom (soap, shampoo, shower gel etc.), asked staff on front desk for some and I was supplied with shampoo only. Absent of access to soap. Shower had no curtain so water pours onto the floor incredibly easily, can tell it happened often as floor was discoloured near bathtub. Drainage in bath/shower was below poor as water struggled to drain. I also noticed one plug socket was faulty in room. Then despite a very clear 5 advertised breakfast on booking form, was told in the morning of departure that we dont really do food at moment, as they offered to get a bowl of cereal from the kitchen for 5. If it wasnt for work in the area, I wouldnt have stayed the 1 night. (Room 18)

Cons: 3 hours before check in they messaged to inform me theyd moved me to the sister hotel location 2 miles away. luckily most of the time we had a car but this was a massive shock and inconvenience as we booked this hotel SPECIFICALLY for the location and now we werent staying there. the people we spoke to REFUSED to give money or compensation back. my bathroom was basically a construction site. the toilet seat was off the toilet, the vinyl had been ripped and the flooring raised. when the staff was told about the issue they decided that was a good time to tel me a plumber was coming in 12 hours to fix the tap WHICH HAD NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. If I hadnt had a good time with my friends this weekend wouldve been RUINED and Id have wasted over 200. I stayed here last year and they didnt move me and my friend so far its a 50% chance 3 hours before you arrive you will be moved 2 hours away and when you confront the staff about the extra charges this will cause you theyll turn round and be like taxi is only 7 or bus for 2 yeah thats fine if you can get either of them.

Pros: Nothing - we arrived to be told there was a problem with booking, and we had been moved to another hotel. The man on reception was polite.

Cons: The new hotel had lovely grounds, but customer services were very poor. There was a major wedding event in progress, so there was no-one to welcome us. On returning from a day out, we were locked out of the hotel at 7.50pm - again, no-one on reception.

NOT a hotel or Guest House! It is used as Crisis Accommodation for undesirables.

Pros: Leaving the hotel at our own expense to stay somewhere that was inhabitable. Booking.com was also incredibly helpful in facilitating a refund.

Cons: Hotel cancelled our booking day of check in. We had booked / paid, 6 months in advance. The receptionist said he tried calling us. Well, our phones didnt work since wed travelled from Australia. Only reason we chose Healey, was location. Close to family, and we had a wedding the next day. We were informed that the council needed our room to accommodate crisis accommodation. So us (paying customers) were kicked out to make way for Homeless Patrons. We got the pleasure of seeing some of the characters: one who was arranging an illegal deal (use your imagination), one wielding a kitchen knife, one searching for cigarette butts, one was a female with child arranging to go out to see a customer Cant make this up! None of this activity seemed to phase the receptionist who jovially communicated with each character by name. I was mortified; but attempted to stay calm. We arranged an Uber to a different hotel, as the receptionist was unable to find a taxi that took credit card payment (despite us giving him the number of taxi which brought us there to start with). Nor did they offer to wear the cost of transport. Care factor was zero from Healey House Hotel. Booking.com was wonderful in arranging a refund. If youre going to chance it, ensure you select option to cancel. Hotel is nothing like the photos or positive reviews. Learn from my naive mistake. Josh

Lovely staff, ok for a place to put your head but much more run down than shown in pictures

Cons: Hotel website, offered : The Pride Of Batley with the Stunning Mulberry Restaurant . Nightingale Suite facilities include: Direct line telephone, Beautiful flower arrangements ,dressed four poster bed, thick fluffy bathrobes, luxury toiletries. What we actually received: None of the above! We did receive extras not advertised including : lots of cobwebs , dirty and dusty surfaces , noisy disruptive residents. Conversation with West Yorkshire Police officers attending a disturbance with other residents . WYP Officers were surprised to discover that the hotel was still taking bookings from paying guests as it was currently being used to accommodate the homeless of Wakefield. Not advertised on either the hotels or booking.coms websites. On arrival spent a couple of hours trying unsuccessfully to find elsewhere to stay booked out, told by staff to contact Booking.com for 134:10 refund, as they couldnt refund me. Still trying to get in contact with them as emails are not even acknowledged even when sent through their own Disputes portal. Celebratory weekend with friends ruined.

Cons: Totally nightmare! I booked room for my employee. Paid 192 for two nights, room was stinking like ashtray, dirt everywhere, sticky surfaces around, broken bed. It was more like prison cell than room. My employee decided to spend night in van. Checked out an hour after arrival. Still waiting for response about my full refund
