Cons: We have been staying at this hotel for more than 15 years but it has been declining. This latest trip on our last day, when we arrived back at our room it hadnt been serviced. The cleaning staff were still on our landing and we asked if our room could be serviced so that we could then enjoy the room and balcony for the rest of our last afternoon. 3/4 hr later, non one had come and when we checked the landing, the cleaning staff had gone. We got short shrift from reception when we asked for our room to be cleaned with the receptionist shouting at my husband 5pm, 5pm 5pm. We then asked to speak to the director and we were put through who send they would send someone immediately . Thirty minutes later someone appeared and changed the towels and emptied the bin. That was it. We cancelled our future stays with the hotel - there were four of them as we stay at this hotel up to 6 times a year. We are now going to use Airbnb.

Fabulous location and friendly staff

Pros: Beautiful rooftop and the food was excellent. Staff were always accommodating.

Cons: The closure of the pool at 5pm I think 6pm would have been a better time although I understand that its a busy restaurant in the evening.

Pros: Location was superb, almost 2 min walk from Place Massena. Personnel was very helpful and friendly. They advised we could go to the buildings seventh floor, which offers magnificent view of the city. The rooms are newly repaired and clean, there is good insulation, no noise from the corridor or from neighbouring rooms.

Cons: The hotel is situated on a very busy highway, though on the other side of the highway is a nice park, it does not help much with traffick noise and occasionally smog. This would not be a problem in winter, when windows are shut. The other diwnside is that room does not have curtains but sliding shutter, which lets light in at night and since there was building lighting just next to our room we had literally white nights, you would hardly tell it was night outside, and there was no curtain to block the light. The other minor drawback is that room and bathroom are separated with huge window, so once one person enters bathroom and puts light on, the entire room lights up, which might not be comfortable if the other person is sleeping in the room. Finally, absence of balcony, though description accurately states that there is no balcony, is quite a drawback, you need at least small French balcony to feel that you are in Nice :).

Lovely hotel, great location and amazing staff

Pros: Amazing location and lovely hotel. We loved our room (Junior Suite) and the sofa bed was also very comfortable and just like a bed. Loved the roof terrace with amazing views. We didn't use the pool but it was also on the roof terrace and looked lovely albeit on the small side. Great food (we had dinner on the terrace) and brilliant breakfast.

Cons: A few things in our room could have been fixed better; the door handles to the bathroom and toilet were loose and if anyone pulled hard enough, would have come off. We had to call someone to turn the shower taps on because they were extremely stiff. Everything we reported to the staff was dealt with very quickly. Also the one major thing that lets the hotel down is the Fitness Room. It was awful. A dark, dingy room that looked more like a storage room with a few machines and a fan for air. Not good enough for a 4-star hotel. You're better off going for a run along the promenade.
