Pros: At the check-in I was promised a room with a view on parking and a little on the boats on the river, but got a different room looking out on the highway....

Cons: Second day, when they had a wedding, we waited 1 hour before being even served the 'amuses'. Admitted they were busy, but the service level dropped too low...

Best in town, I guess

Pros: So Terneuzen isnt exactly tourism central, and while Id probably give the hotel a little less praise if located elsewhere, its the absolute best in Terneuzen. - the rooms are spacious, opt for superior rooms for that extra comfort - the staff is very nice - the location is good, for Terneuzen, which doesnt really have hotels downtown. Its closest to downtown out of all the available options on booking (hotel ones, there are a few apartments closer). And the walk to downtown is very pleasant, along the seafront - be warned, a charming, but surprising thing on that route is locals greet each other (and you) when they pass, so prepare to say hallo a lot on a sunny day :) - the hotel has a nice restaurant if you dont want to walk the 15 minutes downtown. It has a variety of choice and is quite cheap for a hotel restaurant. - there is also a supermarket like 100m from the hotel, at present it looks like a building site, as they are rebuilding it (August 2023) but dont make my mistake from the first day, its there, in a temporary building in the back. - buses to Middelburg, Ghent, Goes etc stop near the hotel

Cons: Well, it is close to downtown, but also far. Close for Terneuzen which for some reason has no hotels in the center, but the walk is 15-20 minutes to the nearest restaurant (except the hotel one), but hey, its as good as it gets here. But after Middelburg, with tons of options downtown it was quite a walk to get anywhere. Biking helps ;)

My stay was cancelled by hotel staff without pre-warning, on day itself

Cons: Whilst travelling to the hotel (car) in the afternoon, I was called by a member the hotel staff telling me that the hotel was overbooked. The lady offered me a room in another hotel. On my question whether the hotel was comparable, the answer was "no, it's a (lower grade) 3-star accomodation". This late notice message is not acceptable.

Pros: Wonderful location right on the walking/biking path along the water with amazing views of the interesting ship traffic. A short walk to center of town. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good.
