Great Value all inclusive for nature lovers!

Pros: I have been to the Riviera Maya 6 times and stayed at different hotels, twice at El Dorado Royale, once at at Valentin Imperial, once at an all inclusive in Cancun Hotel area but cant remember the name. I usually go as a couple and we spend a bit more, this time I brought my mum and gran and so I payed the bill but I still wanted a similar or same experience, I was hesitant to book this hotel as it had more mixed reviews but overall was cheaper then the others and after thorough reading I decided to give this a go. I have to say there is not a lot to worry about! and totally worth it, definitely good value. if you are someone that is used to extremely good service you may be a bit annoyed that the golf cart to take you to your room takes 10mins rather than immediate or that the app to book the a la Carte restaurants isnt great, if you are a bit like that and complain about the smallest of things go somewhere else that costs a bit more. Overall I believe it was really good value, there are three hotels in one, two large areas with pools, and one that has a kid area. Its a bit of an eco hotel, so theres a lot of iguanas, tropical birds, Coatis, Sereques and we even spotted some racoons late at night, if you or your kids love animals and nature this is the most at nature I felt in all the resorts. In this hotel there are a lot more Buffets than others which is also great for eating what you want when you want and running back to the pool or beach. The drinks are better at other resorts but beer was good and spirit+mixer, cocktails were a bit hit and miss but who cares. A lot of the restaurants were fully booked when we arrived for the weekend, such as the Japanese, but we just booked something else and we were impressed, the food at El Dorado Royale is amazing, here it is really good, but if you dont mind paying more then the other one is better for food.

Cons: The only complain would be the cleanliness of the room every day, the pillows did smell a bit like they hadnt been dried well (humid) I had to ask for new ones but they did give them to us quick.

Cons: There wasn't really anything I disliked but it is a very large complex. So be prepared to walk alot or allot time for the golf cart style shuttles for pick up.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was full of the sound of birds and nature & shuttle was available. The options for food were decent and the hours are very good. The pools were very good.

Cons: The staff that checked us in around 3am did not know what she was doing-took a long time w/o explaining why, gave us wrong info on restaurants.Shower was broken, requested to get fixed,nobody showed up.Had family member fixed it.

Cons: Food was mostly cold unless you were lucky to get it when just delivered from the kitchen. Service is terrible. We changed rooms during our stay and it was a nightmare. We basically lost one day because the transition took untill 11pm and when we finally got a room it wasn't made up. Nobody cared. Only Uziel from the service desk was helpful. Nobody else. Neither the clerks at the reception desk nor the manager.

This is an excellent hotels with lots of eating options.

Cons: the al carte restaurants for a 5 star hotel, were very poor. 2 of them you needed reservations. they were ok, the rest of them you had to wait up to a hour or longer, even though some people had reservations by showing the staff a paper booking. Those restaurants the food was terrible. for example order chicken wings, they were cold. the ribs restaurant and Italian restaurant, food was cold and didnt taste genuine. They should make all the restaurants with a reservation. Was very confusing and also the restaurants were never full, hence the 1 hour waiting didnt make sense.The hotel staff was also poor, never informed us or gave us towel card for beach towels. Again the service and food was not 5 star quality.

Horrible experience at an otherwise nice resort

Pros: Great buffet for breakfast and every other meal. Nice grounds with pathways winding through the "jungle".

Cons: We had a lot of problems with the service, something that started when my partner wasn't picked up at Cancun airport like we had arranged. She had to wait more than 2 hours at night at the airport, before she was finally picked. This basically ruined our entire stay, and we did not get a compensation worth mentioning. Not even an extension of one night.

Great swimming pools, average food.

Pros: Good location (near to lots of things to do), and generally good facilities. The pools were beautiful. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming.

Cons: The food was average. The buffets were repetitive and honestly not that great. The a La crate restaurants were hit and miss, though most were a step above the buffets. The water park was just a couple of not very exciting water slides. The room was pretty ordinary. Our garden view meant we had a balcony that looked out onto jungle foliage.
