Pros: Central location - very friendly helpful people

Great hotel but let down by reception (not all reception staff though)

Pros: Always stay here now when in Heraklion as the hotel is both central and pleasant plus great value for money. The breakfasts are unvaried but ok and avoid the need to pay for expensive coffees at nearby places. Out of peak season it's great to be able to check in early and not leave luggage in reception but.....

Cons: Unfortunately this most recent stay was somewhat spoilt by a surly, miserable and rather intimidating reception staff member who made a meal of checking us in, despite us already being on their system having stayed only the previous month (and many times before), didn't bother to check that we'd extended our stay before accusing us of not having checked out at the right time and so he alleged thought overstayed our booking (we had pre emailed the hotel via Booking.com to make this clear but didn't get a reply) and the same person later demanded payment for breakfast (which we mistakenly thought was included in our original booking but wasn't and we were happy to pay for but unhappy with the way we were asked for ten euros as though we were trying to escape without paying). There was nothing to put on the door about cleaning etc. and so our room was needlessly cleaned and supplied with new towels and sheets each day which was quite unnecessary but our experience at reception put us off asking for a door notice.

Pros: Downtown location, help from hotel staff for booking a taxi.

Cons: Noises during the night from other rooms (other guests voices, running/flushing water, etc.) didnt allow to sleep properly. Hotel cant be reached by car hence baggage drop was difficult.

Excellent position but maybe don't go for the single room option.

Pros: Excellent location. Good value. Great coffee and pastries from Zaka next door.

Cons: The bathroom was very small but workable if you're careful with the direction of water from the shower head. The toilet seat almost touched the wall so I tended to sit on the toilet from the side, rather than with your back to the cistern. The bathroom window opened to an internal cavity for ventilation but so did the window of the adjoining room, so noise carried easily.

Pros: Excellent location. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, the port. Really friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Clean. Good value for the price.

Cons: The bathroom was super small, otherwise nice and clean. Noisy from the restaurants/bars in the street next to the hotel - it didnt bother me though, but if youre sensitive about that then you might be disturbed

Pros: I loved the location. Close to restaurants of all varieties and points of interest. A short walk to the port and about a 15-20 minute walk from the bus station. Close to the main shopping areas and markets just outside the door.

Cons: I found the room to be a bit noisy and heard water running most of the night.
