About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Pros: The room was clean and the sheets were fresh. Did not feel like there was any issue with the cleanliness or the mattress feeling like it's been used for extramarital activities
    Cons: The room was extremely dated, only one lamp worked but we couldn't use it because we needed to charge our phones on the one outlet that worked.

    Pros: Location.
    Cons: Let start with the door to the room, it was very difficult to open and close. When we opened the window shade there was a wrapper in the sill, possibly from a coconut. There were oily hair spots and handprints on the headboards of both beds, and likely seamen stains on the dust ruffle of one of them. When I took a shower I first noticed the mildew in the creases of the shower. When I closed the curtain to run the water, the smell was strong and I noticed the bottom half was covered in pink mold. Stepping in the shower I noticed the hair of varying lengths on the walls. One of the light bulbs in the lamp started flickering and began to smell like electrical burning so we removed it from the lamp. The bottom shelf of the night stand had two swipe marks through the dust. Other than that, it was lovely.

    I would gladly book again...

    Pros: Location was great right across from the stadium. Stores and restaurants and texas live is within walking distance , housekeeping didn’t harass you at checkout like some places . Price was affordable , staff was nice
    Cons: No breakfast but I was ok with that. I didn’t expect much from some of the reviews. It is basic but a comfortable place to stay for a few nights

    Pros: The staff was very professional and everytime im there they always take good care of me and the manager is exceptional and very professional. Would recommend this place to anyone.
    Cons: I don't have anything negative to say although it would be nice if they supplied a banana or apple since they don't have breakfast. Js
