About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Cons: Rooms had issues and was also dirty and online how talks about breakfast is a lie no coffee you get an rotten apple hard grain bar and a extra small muffin with smallest water can get all in a brown paper bag we got our 2 rooms first room was no hot water in sink and crying baby next door in room beside and was dirty second room walked in bathroom was flooded so decided to ask for a new room got another room to walk in and had strong smell of cigarets and cigars as food was left in microwave and one drawer had drugs snacks and a bowl with moldy food and so went back ask for new room guest check out guy said sorry i will need to talk with my housekeeping (from what i see he is housekeeping as front desk no other employees were around) so he gave us a different room and had broken glass dirty and broken bathroom sink sadly we had no choice to just stay there but will never again here i was worried being by airport would be an issue it was not at all the hotel was issue as when pulled up found across from hotel is a juvenile prison

    Pros: Location, comfortable beds, clean, nice staff
    Cons: No breakfast buffet like in the past, no pool for the kids but I did know that before booking

    Pros: The man at front desk was friendly.
    Cons: The bathroom mirror had not been cleaned, there was stuff in the bathroom sink and down the bathroom wall to trash can. The hotel had an unpleasant unclean smell and I could smell smoke in hotel.

    Pros: Close to the airport with a shuttle.
    Cons: Breakfast was an apple, muffin, juice, or coffee! Had to ask front desk to make more coffee. Plumbing issues-toilet plugged. And, the lobby restrooms were closed due to renovation. We waited 30 minutes to check in & no one was on site-needed to call!
