About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Comfortable bed, but should’ve been...

    Pros: There was poop on the handle of the toilet that was not cleaned. No coffee cups, but a coffee maker…makes perfect sense!
    Cons: It could have been cleaned properly, prior to assigning it to a guest. Front desk staff should have access to additional towels. We went out sightseeing and requested clean towels. We didn’t get them.

    Cons: I booked a room I always pay with cash will I pay cash but my credit card money was taken off my card I paid cash went back to office and let them know that I got charged not one time but 2 time not happy when they say I have to wait for them to put my money back on card

    Pros: Since I was charged for things in the morning I was never told of when I checked in I'm going to write on every review board how truly awful this place is and to stay away at all costs. Mark my words
    Cons: Being charged $150 extra from your lying staff to the mouse in my room. Worst hotel stay I've ever had

    COLD COFFEE WITH KIDS SNACK...

    Pros: Room was clean and comfortable. I liked that there was a fridge and microwave in the room as well as a coffee pot. Unfortunately the coffee provided was only decaf. The coffee served in the front office fir breakfast was cold. The breakfast as they called it was nothing. There was no breakfast really. It was a small pastry wrapped in plastic. Hardly worth going to the office for. The drinks were choice of apple juice or orange juice or COLD Coffee. Don't expect a de ent breakfast. Not even instant oatmeal or a waffle or something. Just some dinky little store bought pastry. The cheapest they could find. Was not impressed with breakfast in the least. At least keep the coffee hot people! Really? Cold coffee. Wow! Lazy that's what that is. Lazy and cheap. Breakfast was a very disappointing bust. They didn't even try to make it something good. That is not breakfast and they should not be allowed to advertise as such. It's barely a morning snack. How cheap! You can do better then that. Did I mention the coffee was cold and the coffee supplied in the room was decaf only. What's the point of putting coffee pot in the room if you only offer decaf. That's just as pointless as what they passed off as a continental breakfast. Disappointing to say the least.
    Cons: The cold coffee and the poor excuse for a breakfast. You could at least supply real coffee in the rooms not just decaf or make sure the coffee in the office is fresh and fairly hot. It was luke warm at best. Breakfast was a bad joke. They should have laws about advertising breakfast and serving a kids snack as breakfast. That's just wrong.
