About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Pros: The staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Cons: Overall, the experience was quite awful. I booked 8 rooms for my team and I to stay here for a couple of nights. One of them had vomit and pee all over the toilet, the place was moldy, someone tried to get in my room in the middle of the night. 0 stars.

Pros: Staff was understanding and supportive when I had to cancel

Cons: Was put in a pet friendly room bc I have a service dog. Room smelled like wet dog, and floor was sticky. No opportunity to switch rooms or have the room cleaned. Room needed updated

Cons: Hotel is severely outdated, front door was rusted and need to be replaced, room floors were dirty, bathroom shower look old and shower head was made for midgets. Im only 5,10 and had to literally squat down to shower. Buildings definitely need some reno.

Definitely didn't meet expectations.

Pros: Staff and location.

Cons: The property is in CRITICAL need of an update. Furniture is extremely worn, hole in wall, bathroom shower, and liner cracked, tile in disrepair. Condition was unbelievable. We tried to find somewhere to go so we when we returned to the room we would be exhausted and be able to go to sleep. Thank goodness we were only there overnight for my grandsons football game.

Pros: Free parking, big pool, rooms with plenty of space and comfortable beds. Had to exchange rooms as AC wasn't working in the first one but staff was very helpful

We stay here wverytime we are in Okeechobee. Its a good value, we just wish it had a new coat of paint and some repairs

Pros: Quick access to lake, city, and relatives. The staff, park-like grounds and pool are awesome.

Cons: It is very very worn down. Lots of patching, painting, etc, needed.
