About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

    Upon making the reservations I...

    Pros: The only good thing about it was the location .
    Cons: The beds were too high for someone who has problems with their legs and also they were two small to sleep two people in. So I ended up sleeping on the floor. Also there wasn't enough at breakfast to get enough to eat. Not a very good selection at all.

    Worth the money, quiet, friendly,...

    Pros: The stay was good, friendly staff. Not completely silent but a very quiet hotel, considering our room was near the stairs too. Not the biggest breakfast spread but its free so I can't be mad. Paid an extra 20 a night to bring a dog, which is pretty reasonable but I wasn't told about that during my booking so it came as a surprise at check in, but again it's reasonable.
    Cons: The rooms feel a little out dated, but they were clean. Our TV and fridge weren't plugged in, but a very easy fix that I handled myself.

    I would not stay in this hotel ever again, place was just bad paid 120.00 for 1 night, not worth it.

    Pros: Location was good
    Cons: The place was dirty, from the halls to the room. I could see the hallway from inside the room, the TV didn't work, the office chair was the worst I've ever seen in a hotel room. It was just bad, and I have pictures to back up my claims.

    Cons: The place was dirty, from the halls to the room. I could see the hallway from inside the room, the TV didn't work, the office chair was the worst I've ever seen in a hotel room. It was just bad, and I have pictures to back up my claims.

    Disappointing

    won't be back

    Pros: check in staff was nice, location was convenient
    Cons: hotel was very noisy. people coming in and out all night. A barking dog in one of the rooms kept me up all night. My room was in the middle of some maintenance work and was left incomplete

    Wonderful

    Great coffee!

    Pros: I loved the fitness center. The king sized bed was firm and so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the coffee was great.
    Cons: The couch in the room was stained on the arms. The ice machine was operationally confusing but worked well. There was only one waste basket and no lid for the ice bucket. The coffee machine was broken on my last day. why did all the room doors have remnants of something stuck on them? previous labels?

    Great coffee!
