About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Cons: My room (105) was extremely hard to open the door entering or exiting. That side of the building faced an extremely loud side street with trucks and motorcycles and hotrods. Next visit I will request a room facing the U haul dealer .

Cons: The hotel room was dingy. Very rundown. The hotel room had a terrible smell like perfume covering up cigarettes smoke. The location of the hotel made me very worried about my safety and the safety of my child. I thought the hotel was very overpriced.

Worst Hotel in Florida

Pros: The location was a good but of the cleanliness of the room, which was horrible. The broken floor tile poop on the walls smelt like a dirty bar. And management is never there. Worst hotel in ft Myers hand down. Me and my child had to check into another hotel and days inn I won't refund me the 298.00 I spent for a hotel we didn't stay at!! Don't recommend this place to an animal!

Cons: The worst hotel in ft Myers, the hotel has no management that is ever at work. Hotel needs to be condemned!

Cons: Overcrowded room, beat up crappy furniture, no breakfast, kingsize bed on a queen headboard, unneeded extra bed and overstuffed chair right in the doorway, and it was way overpriced for the dump that it is.

it was a bed.

Pros: Decently appointed. limited toiletries. less than average towels.

Cons: overpriced for what the property delivered. Lobby is virtually only a check in/out counter. Boxes and supplies sitting all around. Staff acted like I was interrupting her when all I did was drop of f the room key. Not even a "how was your stay?. I walked from the bed to the bathroom and my feet were filthy.

One of the worst places...

Pros: Staff were very nice and helpful. New shower showed they’re trying.

Cons: Very run down. Not a typical Days Inn. Walls thin, could hear everything. Random comings and goings well into early morning (1AM, 2AM). People playing loud music and singing in the parking lot till midnight. TV on the fritz, constantly breaking up.

It was just fair !!!

Pros: I only spent one night at friends house and one night at the hotel !! It was fair !!! I don't much to talk about it !!!!

Cons: Furniture very old,toilet paper stand rusty,look like a piece of junk!!! Curtains in the windows have very visible dirty stain spots !!! I used to work in the Hospitality Industries for years !! I know what I am talking about It !!!

Cons: It was overpriced. We booked a smoking room, we also paid extra at the site, for the smoking room. We received a non smoking room and was told if we smoked in it we would lose our deposit which was an inconvenience. We killed roeaches all night long.

Cons: Extremely disappointed with this property. No breakfast, even though advertised and expected. Swimming pool was closed for health reasons. Extra service charge requested when we checked in. Very noisy. Our room was next to the ice machine which was constantly being used during the night. Bed linen and towels, very poor quality and dirty

Scary

Pros: Nothing was good about this place, except for the front desk woman. The location was close to where we needed to be, in the middle of strip malls and industrial parks.

Cons: Every night, there was loud, crazy partying in the parking lot and outside of our door each night. The screaming, the rap music, lasted until 5 in the morning.
