About Days Inn By Wyndham Brand Hotels

Founded in 1970, Days Inn is a hotel chain started by Cecil B. Day and opened its first location in Tybee Island, Georgia. The second hotel came in the same year at Forsyth, Georgia with hotel rooms starting $8 a night.

Days Inn’s earlier years were quite tough. The lack of maid service was the initial issues Day had to go through after creating the brand. As a temporary solution, he had to ask help from his children to make up the beds in the hotel rooms. Furniture needed in the hotel were hauled to the location by Day’s mother, on her wagon because the truck was too heavy to go through the bridge to reach the first Days Inn hotel in Tybee. With 60 rooms and a set of friends who had no confidence on Day’s investment, Days Inn Tybee Island got a 100% occupancy in April 1970 and became a success from then on. Franchises became available in 1972 and by 1978, there are already more than 300 Days Inn hotels in the United States, Mexico as well as Canada.

Now under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Days Inn has over 1900 properties operating in different parts of the world.

Pros: The breakfast was delicious and the pool facilities were outstanding. Room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, they even brought up a pack n play as we had our daughter with us. Over all a great experience and I will be returning in the future.

Cons: Unfortunately, there is no elevator and no mainfloor rooms available, but we were given a room very close to the stairway that helped significantly.

Pros: Really enjoyed The BIG bathroom, An really happy to be able to sit down while showering Due to some Medical issues !! An The 6am Continental Breakfast was AMAZING !

Cons: Mind THIS IS NO FAULT OF THE HOTEL OR THE STAFF, But Didn't really Appreciate The RUDE sideways comments Some of The ( Hockey ) Parents & Kids Were making When I was walking in & out of Checking in & when My Boyfriend ( mind you just got done with work up on a roof all day ) Walked threw There comments as well . An We couldn't get the water to Completely Stop Dripping in our Bathroom sink ( I believe someone STRIPPED the Handle at some point )

Pros: Great location, super friendly staff. The rooms were very clean . The staff was helpful, always willing to answer questions and quickly resolve issues.

Cons: The breakfast was good and plenty of it. The variety was good too but i wished it was a little less like "convenience" food and a little more homemade "like". Perhaps a waffle maker for making your own fresh waffles. Lol. That's just me though.
