During the early 1980s, Marriott has troubles in finding the right brands that will accommodate services for the family. They decided to create a new chain of hotels suited for those clients who are not satisfied or are looking for amenities that they do not have with their current hotel brands. Courtyard was then introduced in 1983 to provide lodging and accommodation services for business travelers.
