Cons: The pillows in our bedrooms were uncomfortable. There was no tea kettle. The curtains in our room were not thick enough and thus let the early morning light through easily. A bit overpriced for the Chistmas season.

Pros: -location for Christmas market in Freiburg was great. -valet was a huge plus (27 euro/day) -helped with luggage into room -quick room service and cleaning -very clean!!

Cons: -pool wasnt as warm as I would like it -poor choice of restaurants around -concierge isnt helpful (asked for a taxi, was somewhat helped, concierge left and our taxi never came) -value for your money was not great -restaurant serves very sophisticated food, nothing I was interested in, hahaha

Pros: The classic decor & set up of the room was exceptional. Very clean and well maintained. It is a beautiful property.

Cons: The city restaurants were full due to holiday & Christmas Market visitors. We needed a recommendation & help on a place to eat. The staff simply said: 'Everything is full' without really making any effort to contact places where they have connections OR looking a bit outside the city center which was NOT completely booked. We talked later to people who ate at a restaurant nearby (outside the pedestrian zone) that was half empty. As it turned out, we ate a bratwurst at a stand in the city center because we had no indoor place to sit down and enjoy a meal. I would expect staff at a 5-star hotel to me more helpful and resourceful. One more thing - the down pillows are very luxurious but completely too thin and useless for sleeping. Please buy some thicker pillows.

Pros: Old European hotel. Clean. Large room and bathroom. Showing its age a bit, but still grand in its former glory.

Cons: We stayed here because of their Michelin rating and spa. The initial contact with reception staff was brusque; not very welcoming. The valet who parked our car & showed us to our room was pretentious. The sauna would not reach the proper temperature. The room we chose did not have a view(we knew this ahead of time). The description said it was a side street view. When we opened the curtains, a dentist office and an apartment had a direct level view into our room & if we happened to not close the door, into our bathroom. So for two days, we kept the curtains permanently closed. In the future, the hotel might consider an opaque film on those windows. Consequently, because we did not feel entirely comfortable here and rather closed-in with no natural light, we chose to leave the property as much as possible and eat & drink elsewhere.

Cons: Room service basically saying no to changing the meal ever so slightly , to which point the order was cancelled and food sought elsewhere. Only wanted French fries with the schnitzel- not potatoes not exactly an uncommon request.

Pros: Excellent retaurant, great wine selection and lovely food. The room was small, but the bed and airco were a delight in the heatwave we witnessed. We did not get a chance to try the pool area, but it looked nice.

Cons: The bar is a bit too much 80ies, and the staff present when we were there was a bit too junior to know the difference between the coctail americano (which we expected) and the hot beverage (which we got).
