Pros: Valet parking was convenient. The coffee bar was delicious. The room was clean and quiet, and the bed comfy. All of the staff were courteous and professional.

Cons: Felt a little unsafe outside the hotel due to the homeless situation, but was fine.

Cons: The room was extremely dirty. Stains on the wall, dirt on the window ledges. Crumbs on the floor. Grime in the shower. I asked for a utensil and they brought up the dirtiest spoon they could've found. The room was itself also very old, nothing about it was updated. There are very simple things every hotel should have that this room was missing: tissues, functioning phone (there were two phones in the room both of which did not work), drawers for storage/clothing, soap dish to hold bar soap, and so much more. Overall I could've booked a cheaper hotel of likely higher quality.

Pros: Everything went well. Good central location Smooth check-in/out. Competent, Friendly staff ( Tay ( day staff ) and long-haired night guy in particular for me ). Nice large well appointed corner room. Free purified water dispensers on every floor. The Table 7 Bistro has excellent food.

My go to place when...

Pros: Perfect location for catching a show at the House of Blues. Easy parking with the always pleasant valet service. Comfy bed and A/C worked perfectly, even though not really needed on a pleasant spring day! Flying Saucer right around the corner for some excellent craft brew!

Cons: Valet is a bit pricey, but could be worse based on other hotels in the area. No free breakfast, but not a gamechanger, I usually skip breakfast anyways. A bit impersonal on the checkin, but I have to keep typing, so that meets the quota! (check-in is super smooth :)

Cons: I will relate my story in full, so any potential customers know what to expect. I had booked my stay for five nights and fully paid in advance. Two days before arrival, my flight was cancelled last-minute and I immediately let the hotel know through the Booking.com app indicating the new arrival date. Noticing that they had not replied after 24 hours, I sent another message asking for confirmation they had received the first text. No reply. When I arrived in Houston the receptionist said that they considered it 'no show', but I had the full booking documentation, including the messages they had ignored. So I was given the room I had booked and at the same time told that an amount of $150 would be additionally pre-authorised to cover for potential damages and refunded upon check-out. Ok, fine. One day into my stay I see that the pre-authorised amount had gone up to a total of $346.89, with no explanation. I immediately asked at the reception and was given an opaque answer along the lines that more needed to be pre-authorised, and there was nothing to worry about since I would be refunded at the end of the stay, within two to three working days (a receptionist called Diana). I trusted them. Back in Europe I received an invoice that made little sense charging me twice for 'no show' and multiple taxes (basically they charged no show although I had timely communicated the late check in). They are obviously not planning to refund anything. Please do not trust these people with your credit card details, and go somewhere else. I have currently asked Booking.com to solve the issue and I am waiting for them to process the request.
