Hotel did not meet description

Pros: Restaurant services and the central pool area are fantastic, the view was breathtaking and the staff really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

Cons: According to the hotel description and prices, we expected a luxurious experience but got an eco-lodge. Rooms and Spa area both had seen better days.. Bad smell upon entering the room; walls appeared to lose their paintings, wall colours were obviously suffering from indoor humidity. Small bed lights didnt work on both sides. Bed linen were not clean (dirty spots on white linens upon arrival). Curtains didnt close properly, white curtains were not entirely white but dirty and unwashed. Curtains to protect from daylight were all (!) mouldy at the back. Touching the coffee machine was a mistake, as it was sticky and unclean. Out of two provided coffee cups, one was already used and remained uncleaned. As this place is located in the middle of a jungle, mosquitos are a known problem. The hotel provided a mosquito net and a small spray (60ml) to apply on skin for two guests, further repellents were not provided, even upon request. Our private outdoor hot tub had broken painting, unfixed fundaments and a underwater lamp hanging loosely into the pool - the water temperature either cold or boiling..... Due to bad insulation of windows, we not only had lots of insects and amphibians in our room but also could hardly sleep. The river just next to our room sounded quite noisy in the room, as well. Space between the main windows and smaller top windows above was extremely dusty. The room included storage space built into the wall. Doors to the space didnt close properly and the storage offered an intense mouldy smell. The bathroom was located in an open space. Considering mosquitos, a regular use of bathroom facilities was impossible, as once outside, insects attacked aggressively. This made using showers or the toilet a very stressful experience, and no mosquito hide-away was available. Amenities in the bathroom (e.g. glasses for tooth brush) were not clean. The mirror was partly blind (see picture). No toilet brush was provided.

Worth the experience, all taken care of

Pros: Everything about the room (the one with the private swimming pool) was just wonderful. Loved having good quality coffee available as well as some drinks. The bed, pillow and bed sheets were great. We appreciated the walking trail theyve got at the property, it was lovely, however we couldnt enjoy it much because of the mosquitos. The price is not for everyone but is definitely worth to experience it for couple nights at least !

Cons: I dont have any complaints. Maybe Ill suggest them to include more veg options in their menu, but DR has that issue in general. As a note to the hotel, as we had to check out and leave really fast, the lamps at the sides of the bed were not working, but that was not a problem at all, it had other cosy and cute lights around.

My 3rd time there and can't wait to go back.

Pros: Amazing view. Great service. Pool with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ocean and mountains. The best hotel in Barahona.

WONDERFUL!!

Pros: There is nothing I dont like! This place is just amazing. The rooms are like stepping into a fairytale, the pool is made for relaxing and good instagram stories All the food we have been served have been delicious and the service great, nothing is too much for them. This place is perfect for a little gate away. Simple but still luxurious.

Cons: I liked EVERYTHING! Only feedback I can give is to make the path between the river suites and the reception/pool/restaurant a bit more comfortable.

Cons: The room smells a little bit like urine. I think they have to do a better job cleaning the floor in the room. Beside that everything was absolutely amazing. Very comfortable beds.

Simply amazing!

Pros: The staff was amazingly friendly, helpful and kind. The facilities with utterly clean and very well maintained. The view(s) are simply amazing. I can only recommend this hotel to everyone, you will not regret it!

Cons: We did have the bad luck that there was an election going on, this made a lot of background noise of the bikes and motorcycles. You have a few nice hikes in the area, but for the real great stuff such as beaches or lakes, you need to take a taxi or drive! They are not in walking distance.

Pros: The best customer service ever. The food was amazing. The Spa was great, the sound of the river, while we are having a massage, was the most relaxing experience in my life, that was enough to renew my body and soul.
